8th Round of the Heybeliada Talks

GPoT Center organized the 8th Round of the Heybeliada Talks in a series of second-track diplomacy meetings bringing together Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots.

The meeting took place between the 27th and 28th of November, in Polonezköy with the participation of academics, political experts and past and present representatives of the official negotiation teams. 

The meeting comprised of three panels, for the discussion of the progress in negotiations since the 7th Round in July 2010, the property issue and the role of international bodies, specifically the UN and the EU, in finding a solution to the conflict, respectively. 

GPoT Center would like to thank the Open Society Foundation - Turkey for the grant that has made it possible to organize this round of the Heybeliada Talks, as well as the upcoming publication that will be the culmination of the project by outlining major themes and articulating the different positions on the conflict throughout the meetings.
