Dutch United Nations Student Association Visits GPoT Center

Sixteen students participating in the study visit organized by the Dutch United Nations Student Association (DUNSA) in Amsterdam visited GPoT Center on August 6, 2013 to discuss the Cyprus and Kurdish questions with GPoT Center staff.

The goal of the group’s interdisciplinary study trip across Cyprus and Turkey was to discover the political, social, and cultural implications of Turkey's application for EU membership.

Lenka Peťková of GPoT Center gave the group a historical overview of the Cyprus problem and its implications for the EU-Turkey relations. She also briefed them about GPoT Center’s Cyprus projects.

Following her presentation, Sophia Hutnik of GPoT Center gave the group a detailed overview of the Kurdish question and the current peace process.
