Taking the current circumstances into consideration, this GPoT-led, EU and IEMed funded Working Package discusses frameworks for the Future of Syria.

The Syrian uprising, which began in March 2011, quickly devolved into a violent war between Bashar al-Assad's regime and multiple, fragmented opposition movements. Six years later, the conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 250.000 Syrians, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; forced over 4 million people to migrate to neighboring countries; and displaced a further 7.6 million people within Syria.
In line with these efforts, this Joint Policy Study has attempted to assess the post-conflict phase of Syria through its four chapters: state-building, political, structural, and legal issues; Syria's military post-conflict; Syria's economy and the war damage, possible peace keeping and reconstruction architecture; and reconciliation and minorities in Syria.
The Joint Policy Study was written in the framework of the EuroMeSCo Working Package ''Future of Syria'', led by the Global Political Trends Center.

Mevcut koşulları dikkate alarak, GPoT öncülüğünde Avrupa Birliği ve IEMed tarafından finanse edilen ortak çalışma paketi Suriye'nin geleceği konusunu ele alıyor.
Mart 2011'de başlayan Suriye ayaklanması kısa bir sürede Beşar Esad rejimi ile çok parçalı muhalif güçler arasında şiddetli bir savaşa dönüştü. Altı yıl sonra çatışma, İnsan Hakları Suriye Gözlemevi'ne (SOHR) göre 250 binin üzerinde Suriyelinin ölümüyle sonuçlandı; 4 milyondan fazla insanı komşu ülkelere göç etmeye zorladı; Suriye'de ise 7.6 milyon kişiyi yerinden etti.
Bu gelişmeler doğrultusunda, Joint Policy Study, odaklandığı dört bölüm üzerinden Suriye'nin çatışma sonrası aşamasını değerlendirmeye çalışmıştır: Devlet kurma, siyasi, yapısal, yasal konular; Suriye'nin çatışma sonrası askeri gücü, Suriye ekonomisi ve savaş hasarı, olası barışı koruma ve yeniden yapılandırma, Suriye'deki uzlaşma ve azınlıklar.
Joint Policy Study, EuroMeSCo projesi çerçevesinde, Küresel Siyasal Eğilimler Birimi (GPoT) liderliğinde ''Suriye'nin Geleceği'' konusunu ele alan çalışma paketidir.
