Migration Network in Europe and Turkey Thematic Workshop 2
Global Political Trends Center (GPoT Center) of Istanbul Kultur University organized a 2-day thematic workshop on 23-24 March 2017 on the premises of Crowne Plaza Hotel Istanbul.
The workshop was organized within the framework of the “Migration Network in Europe and Turkey” project, which is implemented by the Greek NGO Athens Network of Collaborating Experts, and the Turkish organizations Global Political Trends Center of Istanbul Kültür University, Human Resource Development Foundation, and Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants. The overall objective of the project is to facilitate EU-Turkey civil society cooperation on the development of migration/asylum policies in Turkey in accordance with EU standards, and of a common approach to migration management between EU & Turkey.
The main goal of the two-day thematic workshop was to present the design, implementation and critical assessment of the Minaret Project as a whole, with the purpose of raising awareness, providing knowledge about the broader phenomenon of migration with a special focus on EU-Turkey relations.
Specifically, the aims of the workshop are: 1. Dialogical exchange between public officials and migrants/refugees; 2. Raising awareness regarding Turkey’s compliance with EU regulations concerning migration; 3. Advancing the concerns and issues of the migrant/refugee communities in Turkey and Greece.
The event was attended by 30 civil society representatives, academics, and experts on migration and human rights.

İKÜ-Küresel Siyasal Eğilimler Merkezi, Türkiye ve Avrupa'da Göç Ağı Projesi kapsamındaki iki günlük çalıştayın ikincisini 23-24 Mart tarihlerinde İstanbul Crowne Plaza Hotel'de düzenledi.
Çalıştay, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti ve Avrupa Birliği tarafından ortak finanse edilen Sivil Toplum Diyaloğu Programı çerçevesinde uygulanan “Avrupa ve Türkiye’de Göç Ağı” projesi kapsamında düzenlenmiştir. İki gün süren bu etkinlikte, sığınmacı ve mültecilerin kaygılarının dile getirilmesinin yanı sıra, göç ve sığınma ile ilgili konularda bilgi alışverişinin sağlanması ve bu kapsamda Türkiye-AB ilişkilerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
Sınırlı sayıda sivil toplum temsilcisi, gazeteci ve akademisyenin katılımıyla gerçekleşen toplantıda, proje kapsamındaki konular tartışılarak öneriler sunulmuştur.
