India's Rise as an Emerging Power

GPoT Center of Istanbul Kültür University organized a roundtable meeting on November 14th, 2011 between 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm, in which Dr. (Col) S.P.S. Bedi, the Executive Director of Chandigarh Business School of India, talked about India’s rise as an emerging power.

During this meeting, the role of emerging markets in today’s increasingly multilateral world was laid on the table, with discussants analyzing the topic in the cases of India and Turkey. While Dr. Bedi stressed the policies that led India to emerge as a world economic power, he also examined India’s similarities and differences compared to another emerging market, Turkey, producing policy suggestions for both of the countries.
