MCA 4th meeting in Istanbul: “Mediterranean Dialogues: Citizenship and Conflicts”
GPoT Center's project officer Sofia Hafdell participated in the Fourth Meeting of the Mediterranean Citizens’ Assembly, which was organized in Istanbul from the 21st to the 24th of November 2013.
The 4th meeting was entitled “Mediterranean Dialogues: Citizenship and Conflicts," and addressed the citizens’ dimension of various ongoing conflicts in the Mediterranean, including the vision of the Turkish citizenship on the Mediterranean and its conflicts. The meeting covered four Agoras: Analysis of the situation in the Mediterranean countries and in Southern Europe; Analysis of the situation in the south-eastern countries of the Mediterranean; Analysis of the situation in the Maghreb countries; and Politics and religions in the Mediterranean
The members of the citizens’ circles and Advisory Council of the MCA, in addition to experts and representatives of local and national Turkish institutions, Euro-Mediterranean and African-Mediterranean institutions, as well as other international public institutions of the Mediterranean, participated during the meeting.
