Journalists from A Haber and SkyTurk in Armenia

GPoT Center, in collaboration with Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF), brought four journalists to Armenia between the 20th and 24th of September, 2012 under the "TV Talk Shows" activity, which is a part of "Support to Armenia-Turkey Rapprochement" Project.

During their stay in Armenia, journalists followed a four-day-long program including meetings with political leaders, experts, media and civil society representatives in order to gain knowledge about the current situation regarding Turkish-Armenian relations. On their first day, journalists had a meeting with Gevorg Ter-Gabrielyan, the director of EPF; Richard Giragosian, the director of Regional Studies Center; Sussanna Harutyunyan, the artistic director of Golden Apricot International Film Festival; Heghine Manasyan, the director of Caucasus Research Resource Center. On their second day, journalists had interviews with European Voluntary Service (EVS) students regarding their projects and personal experiences in Armenia. Alongside the site visits on the third day, journalists had an informative meeting with Hayk Demoyan, the director of Genocide Museum-Institute. On the same day, one of the journalists, Vildan Ay, took part in "Article 27: Freedom of Expression", a TV show, which airs on Yerkir Media TV every Saturday. Journalists spent their last day in Gyumri city, where they had a meeting with Artush Mkrtchyan, the director of the Gyumri Development Foundation and they visited families of the students who currently study in Turkey.

It will be possible to watch the shootings from the interviews, meetings and city sites in the upcoming days on SkyTurk and A Haber. The episodes will include impressions of the journalists from their first visit to Armenia.
