Visit of Turkish Students to Yerevan

GPoT Center accompanied six Turkish students during their trip with the Youth Exchange Program under the "Dialogue Building Between Turkey and Armenia" Project. The Turkish participants attended a one-week-long training on documentary film co-production which was organized by Internews Armenia in Yerevan.

On the first day of the training, after touring the main sights of Yerevan, students participated in a lecture, given by Ambassador Dr. David Hovhannisyan, on stereotypes in Armenian and Turkish societies, which was followed by a welcoming dinner.

During the next days, students took part in lectures given by famous producers/directors at the Internews Armenia’s office. Each student attended meetings related to the subject of his or her documentary film. The students paid a visit to the Vernisaj Market, the Garni Temple, the Geghard Monastery and the Khor Virap Monastery, which is situated about 1 km from the Armenian-Turkish border.

During the one-week-long training, both Turkish and Armenian participants of the project had the chance to get to know each other better. After conducting research in the city, they also finalized their topics which they will cover in their respective documentaries. The students plan to shoot their documentaries in the upcoming months.
