Young Turkey/Young America - A New Relationship for a New Age

GPoT Center's Narod Maraşlıyan participated in the US Department of State funded "Young Turkey/Young America - A New Relationship for a New Age" program's first leg which was held in Turkey between June 3rd and 14th, 2012.

The program, which is organized by World Learning in collaboration with Istanbul-based Culture City Foundation, aims to support the participation of young Turkish and American leaders in a transatlantic dialogue on foreign policy issues. On their first day, participants of the program attended "The Next Generation Speaks Forum" in which they had the chance to share their insights on the global youth awakening, especially in the transitional countries. During the following days American participants visited the home-cities of their Turkish peers in the program and gained knowledge about the culture and character of the country by having both formal meetings and cultural sightseeing opportunities.

At the second leg of the program, which will be held in early November, the delegation from Turkey will visit the U.S. to gain knowledge about the country by participating in interactive seminars/meetings and visiting cultural sites. The projects that the pairs started to develop in Turkey will be conducted in the U.S. segment of the program.
