Series of Meetings at the UN DPA Policy and Mediation Division

GPoT Center Director Dr. Mensur Akgün and Deputy Director Dr. Sylvia Tiryaki attended a series of meetings at the United Nations Department of Political Affairs (DPA) Policy and Mediation Division, directed by Ambassador Levent Bilman, between December 10th and 15th, 2011 in New York City.

In the Policy and Mediation Division, Drs. Akgün and Tiryaki met with representatives from the Mediation Support Unit (MSU), including the Focal Point for Gender unit, and discussed GPoT Center's projects in the Middle East, Cyprus, and Armenia. In addition, they held a meeting with the head of the Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF), founded in 2005, which facilitates the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
