Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe was awarded the "Alumni Award for Inspiring the Future" by Koç University, from which she graduated. The ceremony was held on Thursday, November 30 at 19.00 at the Sevgi Gönül Auditorium located on the Koç University Rumelifeneri campus.

The IKU Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, paid a visit to the Rector of Istanbul Technical University Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu in his office. The IKU Rector also paid visits to ITU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata and Prof. Dr. Ali Deniz on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

İKÜ Design Factory project participating in the "Common Futures" project competition organized by the Confederation of Turkish Employer Associations (TİSK) was deemed worthy of the first prize under the "Those Who Pave the Way for Young People" category of the first ever competition to be held in which a total of 200 projects were admitted. IKU Design Factory Project was deemed worthy to receive the award as a result of the public vote in which approximately 30 thousand people participated held in addition to the judgement given by the jury consisting of business, art, press and academy figures.

IKU Faculty of Art and Design, Head of the Department of Communication Arts, Prof. Dr. Işıl Zeybek was among the names nominated by Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club presidential candidate Hasan Arat on the board of directors list consisting of well-known names in the business, law and academia. We congratulate the esteemed IKU faculty member for their exemplary stance representing IKU in the sports world and wish them continued success.

IKU Law Club, IKU International Law Club and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) organized a trip to Ankara on November 27, 2023, with the support of Dr. Akif Hilal Öztürk, who was appointed as the university official of DAAD. In the event which started with the visit of Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye and members of the delegation; German Consulate, Turkish Grand National Assembly, Anıtkabir and Hacı Bayram Veli University were visited.

Ali Anıl Ece, our student from the Department of Communication Arts, prepared a successful presentation with their group in accordance with the brief given in the "UniChallenge+ Digital Student Jobs Training Camp" program organized in partnership with IAB and Akbank and was awarded the first place. We congratulate our student and wish them continued success.

Head of Kültür Point Unit Dr. Lect. Member Neslihan Fatma Er, Unit Vice President Doğa Kurtyiğit and Career Specialist Ecem Uçar attended the "Life Without Handicaps Fair" held at Istanbul Expo Fair Centre on Thursday, November 30, 2023. In the fair, which was held for the first time in Türkiye and the 6th time in the world, information was shared at the stands on issues such as technological developments, educational opportunities and job opportunities for disabled individuals. By contacting many associations, the issues of being a stakeholder and cooperating with the activities to be held during the year were discussed.

As a part of the activities of the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Lion Klinker Company Marketing Manager Funda Algın Süzen, who attended the "Building Information and Material-I" and "Building Construction and Material-I" courses as a guest lecturer on 29-30 November 2023, gave a seminar, talking about "Various Usage of Brick in Architecture" in Turkish and English.

A “Ceramics Workshop” event was held with the joint efforts of İKÜ Kültür Point and Özyazıcı Special Education Vocational School, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Ceramics Workshop room in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

Students got to express themselves in a creative way in the workshop organized for Hearing Impaired individuals.

In the event instructed by instructor Özhan Pak, students had the chance to further their creativity and physical skills.  Özyazıcı Private Education Vocational School students were supported by İKÜ Sign Language Education students and two students from the choir.

The second workshop will be held on Tuesday, December 5th.

An event titled "DevXperience Session 1" was organized by The Mathematics and Computer Club to help improve the data analysis and data manipulation skills of the participants, on Friday, October 27, at 16.00 in the seminar hall of the ground floor d corridor of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.  In the event, where insights were shared on topics such as "What is Data Science?", "Data Science Stages", "Data Collection and Cleaning", "Data Analysis", "Data Visualization", "Modelling and Prediction", the subjects of Python Pandas and NumPy libraries were also highlighted.

Mathematics and Computer Club organized a first time get together meeting event on October 16, 2023, in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building, to give the members the chance to socialize with each other. At the meeting, which started with the speeches of the club president and vice president, the members of the club board introduced themselves and the committees they are responsible for. At the event, where club board members gave a presentation about the club’s mission, activities and future plans, participants shared their thoughts and expectations about the club.

Assoc. Prof. Ayhan Erbay, one of our academicians from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Science and Letters, will participate as a speaker in the second session of the "Child & Justice Panel and Workshop in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" to be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in cooperation with IBB and UNICEF, with their presentation titled "Looking at the Child Protection System and the Concept of Justice through a Lens."

Erasmus+ Program is the EU's grant program operating in the fields of education, youth and sports.  Erasmus program supports education abroad, training, internships, professional development, non-formal learning-based youth activities and collaborations between institutions.

The grant allocated to Türkiye in 2023 for the Erasmus+ Program is 105.5 Million Euros.

The Department of Industrial Engineering will organize a seminar within the scope of "IE7405 Supply Chain Management" course. The event, in which Çağla Aşçıoğlu Yılmaz and Volkan Çilingir, who work as Production Planning Supervisors at BTA Bakery Products, will be the speakers, will be held on Monday, December 4, at 11.00 at the Bakırköy Campus Ataköy Building ZD-1.

In cooperation with Kültür Point and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, a panel titled "The Power of Sports in Overcoming Obstacles" will be organized within the scope of "December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities." The event, where IBB Sports Istanbul Academy Director Osman Kalyoncu and former Paralympic National Athletes Karin Öcal and Mehmet Fatih Kurt will be speakers, will be held on Monday, December 4, between 13.30-15.30 at the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

"Basic and Technical Stock Market Training" will be organized by the Economics Club in order to inform the participants about the stock market. The event, in which ALB Yatırım A.Ş. Research Analyst Ahmet Deniz Yağbasan will be a speaker, will be held on December 4-5 between 15.00-17.00 at the Küçükçekmece Campus conference hall.

The Tourism and Hotel Management Program will organize the "Sheraton Levent Hotel Career Talks" event to support students' career planning processes. The event, in which our students will be given information by Sheraton officials, will be held on Monday, December 4 at 15.00 at Sheraton Levent Hotel.

Kültür Point will organise the "Turkish Sign Language Training" in order to raise awareness about deaf and hearing impaired people in the society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training to be given by the trainer Eser Dalyan will be held on 4-6 December 2023 between 15.00-18.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

An event titled "A Cup of Coffee" will be organised by the Healthy Nutrition Club within the scope of "World Turkish Coffee Day", where the effects of coffee consumption on health will be discussed. The event, where expert dieticians will be speakers, will be held on Tuesday, December 5 at 10:00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

In cooperation with the New Media and Communication Club and the Department of New Media and Communication, a "Design Thinking Workshop" event will be held in order to develop the participants' "Design Oriented Thinking" skills. The event, which will be held under the guidance of Vodafone Türkiye UX Research team, will be hosted by the Design Factory in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building on Tuesday, December 5 at 12:00.

In cooperation with the Kültür Point and the Department of Foreign Language, "Business English Training" will be organised for our students and graduates through CATS on Wednesday, December 6.

"Kızılay Blood Donation" event will be organised by IKU Student Clubs in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building and Küçükçekmece campus between 10.00-17.00 in order to raise awareness of our students, staff and academics about blood donation and to support the Kızılay.

The Academic Research Club will organise an interview titled "Past, Present and Future in the Second Century of the Republic" in order to evaluate the reforms made in the first century of the Republic and to make inferences about the future. The event, where Prof. Dr. Necmi Yüzbaşıoğlu and Assist. Prof. Ceren Yıldız from our Faculty of Law will be the speakers, will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at 12:00 at the Bahçelievler campus Fahamettin Akıngüç Auditorium.

"Introduction to Legal Professions and Judgeship Exam Seminar" will be organised by the Law Club in order to inform students about the exams applied to legal professions. The event, in which lawyer Muhammed Morkoç will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at 13.00 at Bahçelievler campus Law Faculty Amphitheatre I.

A conference will be held to inform students about joinery systems within the scope of the "İÇM 3042 Building Information and Material I" course given in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. The event, in which the Master Architect Fulya Çelebi from ROTO company will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at 14.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

Kültür Point will organize "Turkish Sign Language Training" in order to contribute to the comprehensive development of the society about the hearing impaired and disabled people and their knowledge, personal and professional development. The training, which will be given by instructor Eser Dalyan, will be held on 6-7 December 2023, between 15.00-18.00, in the classroom during the 2A-08 holiday in the Incirli building of the Bakırköy campus.

"Diction and Effective Body Language Training" will be organized by Kültür Point so that the participants can speak Turkish effectively and use body language correctly. The training to be given by Özlem Berkit will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, between 15.00-18.00 in the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

An didactic seminar will be organized by IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) in which Erasmus+ projects and application processes will be explained. The event, in which CORBIZ Corporate Business Solutions Founder Enes Övünç will be the speaker, will be held online on Thursday, December 7, between 10.00-11.30. 

In cooperation with IKU Aviation Programs and Civil Aviation Club, the "7 December World Civil Aviation Day" event will be organized to support students' career planning processes. The event, where important names of the aviation industry will be speakers, will be held on Thursday, December 7, at 11:00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

In cooperation with the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program and the E-Commerce and Marketing Program, a talk titled "Entrepreneurship from Scratch: Luck is Being Prepared for Opportunities" will be held in order to break down students' prejudices against foreign languages. The event, where Meet2Talk CEO Mustafa Özmen will be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, December 7, at 12:00 at the 29 Ekim Cumhuriyet Amphitheater in the Incirli building of the Bakırköy campus.

A conversation titled "International Criminal Courts and International Diplomacy" will be organised by the Cultural Values Preservation Club in order to inform the students of the Faculty of Law about the international criminal court. The event, where International Criminal Court Judge Prof. Dr. Yusuf Aksar and Retired Ambassador Uluç Özülker will be speakers, will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 13.00 at the Bahçelievler campus CEHAMER Twin Hall.

By the Library and Documentation Department; A webinar will be held on how JoVE videos can be used to support education, training and laboratory activities. The event, where JoVE Curriculum Specialist Melita Parlak will be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, December 7, at 15.00 at the Prof. Dr. Atilla Özalpan Seminar Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) continues to bring together beautiful events with Kültür students and art lovers. Mahşer-i Cümbüş, the pioneer of modern improvisational theater in Türkiye with its shows based on themes chosen by the audience without adhering to a specific scenario, will take the stage at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 19.00.

The Department of International Relations will organize a trip to the Harbiye Military Museum on Friday, December 8.

Molecular Biology and Genetics Club will organize a talk titled "Gene Regulation in Breast Cancer" where students will be told about genomic treatment approaches in the field of breast cancer. The event, where Koç University doctoral student Elif Kansız will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, December 8, at 15.00 at the Atilla Özalpan Seminar Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.
