The play "Anne", starring renowned actors Engin Hepileri and Defne Kayalar, was staged for art lovers on Thursday, December 1 at 19.00 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center. Written by the Oscar-winning French writer Florian Zeller, the play tells the psychological strain of a mother caused by her individuality being dissolved and the loss of her agency in the modern patriarchal family structure . The play, which was staged with the magnificent performance of the actors under the directorship of Onur Ünsal, was a big success with the audience. Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center activities will continue with the play "And then there were none (On kişiydiler)" on December 15, 2022, in which renowned actor Ediz Hun will act.

The Design Factory, established by Istanbul Kültür University with the financial support of Istanbul Development Agency, held a seminar on "Effective Communication and Knowing Yourself" on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. , In the seminar where the topic of effective communication, perhaps the most important quality to have in the business world, was discussed, Lodestar Business Solutions founder Dr. Naci Islanders was the speaker.

At the workshop held at the Design Factory on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, one of the most popular and crucial topics of our day "Corporate Innovation" was dealt with. In the workshop where Kadir Nezih Elgün and Ozan Özdemir, two of the founders of e-Taş, were the speakers, the difficulties that can be experienced during the innovation process, what should be taken into account in the innovation process, the general points to be taken into account in the innovation process, the importance of networking during the innovation process, and the corporate approach to innovation in e-Taşın company were discussed.

The Department of Business Administration organized a conference titled “Crisis Management and Decision Making in A Crisis”  to contribute to the personal development of students.  The event in which Turkish Airlines Maintenance Operations Manager Dr Bekir Alper Yıldırım was the speaker, was held on Friday, November 25 at 14.00 at the Basın Ekspres Campus Conference Hall.

We congratulate our students and the faculty members who were granted the opportunity to receive monetary aid as a part of "2209-A - University Students Research Projects Support Program" carried out by the TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Presidency.

We congratulate Öykü Develioğlu, a student from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, for wining the first place with their scenario named “Breath of Ashes” in the International Dystopia Film Festival National Short Film Script Competition organized by the International Independent Cinema and Art Association and with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as, the support of BKM Kitchen, at The Istanbul AKM.

The article titled “Healthy Buildings and Covid-19” by Prof. Dr. Esra Bostancıoğlu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Architecture & one of our faculty members of the Department of Architecture, was published in the 31st issue of the “Güney Mimarlık” magazine of the Adana branch of TMMOB Chamber of Architects. Within the scope of the article, the situation assessment related to healthy structures in Türkiye was made by examining the characteristics of ‘healthy structures’; based on the international literature, the applications that can be developed for the health of existing and new structures with Covid-19 were transferred.

Tülay Aksoy, Nurse in charge of Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Units of Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, attended the “HEM7007 Career Development” course given in the Department of Nursing as the guest lecturer.  In the lecture, the duties, authorities and responsibilities of dialysis nurses were conveyed to our students.

A project-based meeting was held with the participation of Fatma Ünal and Yasin Şahin, experts from IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO), IKU Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Köksal and Enhosting Informatics Computer Co. Ltd. authorities. At the meeting, which was held on Wednesday, 30 November 2022, it was agreed on the development of a joint ARDEB project.

The head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz acted as a jury member in the “Documentary” category of the 4th International Erzincan Short Film Festival.

 IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) University-Industry Cooperation Specialist Yasin Şahin visited TOBB University of Economics and Technology (ETU) Technology Transfer Office.  During the meeting  held on Monday, November 21, an informative discussion was had to improve cooperation between the two TTOs.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Program of Medical Documentation and Secretariat Director, Lecturer Emin Aksan, participated in “TÜBİTAK 2237-A Training on Preparing Applied and Theoretical Research Projects in the Field of Health Sciences,” which was held on 23-25 November 2022 in AFBEL Termal Hotel and in which academicians from various universities took part. In the training, in which topics like the introduction of support for research projects by TUBITAK, project writing, project topic, priority areas, creating work-time schedule, budgeting and tracking system, patent creating, methods and management of originality in the project, widespread impact, article writing were processed, a sample applied project was also written.

The KALBEN Association visited the IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) on Monday, November 28. At the meeting, it was agreed to produce various national and international social projects, to cooperate in different areas for young people growing up under protection and foster families. In addition, a joint decision was taken to support the Children's Village project.

An event titled “We are Meeting with Microsoft Azure” was held by the Mathematics-Computer Club on Friday, November 25, at 16.00. Founder of Microsoft Azure Information Sharing Platform Mustafa Özdemir, who participated in the event as a speaker, gave information about Cloud Computing systems.  At the event where Microsoft Azure platform and the opportunities it provides were discussed in detail; topics such as "What is Cloud Computing?", "What is the purpose of using cloud systems?", "How do cloud systems work?", "What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Cloud system?", "What is cloud security, how is this security ensured?", "Why Microsoft Azure?" were conveyed and students' questions were answered.

In the fifth call period of the Evreka Incubater Center Project Contest, which was held by Kültür College on Wednesday, November 30, Assist. Prof. Artür Yetvart Mumcu from the Department of Entrepreneurship joined to the “Start Up Stand Up” activities with his speech “Crowdfunding in Entrepreneurship” and Res. Assist. Mustafa Bekmezci with his speech “Entrepreneurship Resilience and Sustainability.”

Yasin Şahin, IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) University-Industry Cooperation Expert, attended the "National Patent Fair and University-Industry Cooperation National Congress" organized by ÜSİMP on 22-23 November 2022. Yasin Şahin received his certificate from ÜSİMP Chairperson of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Hamit Serbest, RTTP within the scope of the fair held at ODTÜ Congress and Culture Center.

In cooperation with the Department of Entrepreneurship and We Speak Aloud, an event titled "2nd Equality Days" will be held to raise awareness on women's rights and gender equality. The event, in which Bengisu Nehir Aydın, Sera Kadıgil, Zuhal Kaya, Şükran Moral, Assoc. Dr. Ata Can Bertay, Res. Assist. Tuğba Yavuz and Feryal Saygılıgil will be speakers, will be held on December 3-4 between 11:00 and 20:00 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

Within the scope of the "E5403 Facilities Design and Planning" course, the Department of Industrial Engineering will organize a technical trip to DeFacto's logistics warehouse in Çerkezköy between 08.00-17.00 on Monday, December 5, in order to observe the goods acceptance, e-commerce and shipment processes on site.

Kültür Point will organize "Assertive Behaviour Development Training in Business Life" to support career planning processes of the students. The training, which will be given by Seçil Altıntaş, will be held on Monday, December 5, between 15.00-18.00, in the 3rd floor multi-purpose hall of Ataköy campus.

Kültür Point will organize “Turkish Sign Language Training” in order to raise awareness about deaf and hearing-impaired people in the society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training, which will be given by trainer Eser Dalyan, will be held on 5-6 December 2022 between 15.00-18.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall.

The "Kızılay Blood Donation" event will be held at our Ataköy campus on Tuesday, December 6, by the Support Services Department in order to raise the awareness of our students, staff and academicians about blood donation and to support the Kızılay.

Department of New Media and Communication will organize a talk titled "Artificial Intelligence in Business Life and the Future" to support career planning processes of the students. The event, where Computer Engineer Yüksel Eminoğlu from Projesoft Teknoloji will be the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, December 6, between 10.00-12.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall of our Ataköy campus.

As part of the "International Day of Personswith Disabilities", Kültür Point will organize an interview with Fenerbahçe Wheelchair Basketball Team to raise awareness among students. The event, which will be moderated by IKU Sports Coordinator İsmail Çakıt, will be hosted by Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Tuesday, December 6 at 13.00.

Civil Aviation Club will organize the "7 December International Civil Aviation Day" event in order to convey the importance of civil aviation to our students. The event, in which Turkish Airlines Flight Training Head Burak Bekman will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, December 7, between 11:00 and 13:30, at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Department of Industrial Engineering will organize a technical trip to Ekol Logistics between 12.30-16.30 on Wednesday, December 7, in order to observe the processes in the warehouse for effective performance and to convey the importance of the warehouse in the supply chain.

Istanbul Kültür University Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEMER) with the aim of informing on the services for individuals with special needs in the world and in our country, and raising awareness on the issue, will organize an event titled "Living with Disabilities: We Have the Power to Be Aware!". The event, in which the Head of the Department of Special Education Prof. Dr. Arzu Özen will be the speaker, will be held virtually on Wednesday, December 7, between 14.30-16.00 on the Microsoft Teams.
