Presentation of the improvement project of Isparta Sütçüler District Çobanisa Village Primary School, which was implemented as a social responsibility project by the IKU Faculty of Architecture Department of Architecture, between 25 July and 6 August 2022, the presentation of the certificates of appreciation and the opening of the exhibition about the work done were carried out in Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Monday, 3 October 2022. The ceremony, in which our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver, 3rd year students of the Department of Architecture who took an active part in the project process, research assistants, institutions and individuals supporting the project, the Headperson of Çobanisa Village and the Director of the Village Primary School, the academic staff of the Department of Architecture and the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, and students participated, took on a different meaning as it was made on World Architecture Day.

In cooperation with the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design and the Department of Interior Architecture of Karadeniz Technical University, "İÇMEK 5th / International Congress on Interior Architecture Education" was held on 16-17 June 2022 with the theme of "Rethinking / Yeniden Düşünmek". While 21 memos were presented at the online congress, 4 guest speakers made their presentations. 6 original studies selected by the journal referee board from the memos presented at the congress were included as articles in the special issue of the Journal of Design Studio, titled “İÇMEK-5 Rethinking”.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Armağan Seçil Melikoğlu Eke and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Derya Adıgüzel Özbek were the guest editors of the special issue of the Journal of Design Studio magazine “İÇMEK-5 Rethinking”. At the same time,“Between Education & Profession: An Evaluation of Graduation Projects in the Field of Interior Architecture in Turkey” written by Prof. Dr. Gülay Usta, Assoc. Prof. Armağan Seçil Melikoğlu Eke and Res. Assist. Özge Ilık Saltık and Res. Assist. Furkan Evliyaoğlu's article titled "Examining Workshops in the Intersection of Formal and Informal Architecture Education: The Case of "Spring Workshops" were also included in the special issue of the magazine.

An online communication and cooperation meeting was held between IKU Faculty of Health Sciences, IKU Faculty of Art and Design and Turkish Muscular Diseases Association (KASDER) on Wednesday, October 5th.

Under the internship protocol signed between Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) and Bakırköy Representation of the Chamber of Architects the works produced during the program after the workshops held between 18 July and 15 August 2022, were exhibited at TMMOB Chamber of Architects Bakırköy Representative Office until September 30, 2022. The projects of the workshop attended by Res. Assist. Ufuk Küçükyazıcı, Res. Assist. İdil Akkuzu, Res. Assist. Elif Çileli, Res. Assist. Merve Aksoy Oral, Res. Assist. Dilara Gür, Res. Assist. Berkay Oskay and Res. Assist. Sevgi Pınar Turan from IKU Faculty of Architecture, the Department of Architecture, and the student of the department, will soon be exhibited at the Ataköy campus of Istanbul Kültür University.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) students toured Istanbul with the "Service Promotion" event organized by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

The "Service Promotion" trip, which was last held in 2019 and could not be held the last two years due to the pandemic, was held again on Thursday, October 6, 2022. The route of the trip attended by 20 students consisted of Hagia Sophia Mosque, The Blue Mosque, The Hippodrome of İstanbul, Gulhane Park and Basilica Cistern. The trip, in which Miniatürk was also visited, was concluded after lunch. 

Erpa Teknoloji General Manager Nihat Erdal and his team visited IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) on Friday, September 30, 2022 as part of university-industry cooperation. İKÜ Technology Transfer Office Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Hikmet Çağlar and Technology Transfer and University-Industry Cooperation Specialist Yasin Şahin sat down with Erpa Technology officials and they exchanged views on matters such as the development of joint projects, providing consultancy to the projects currently being carried out, internship and business processes of İKÜ students and graduates, and career planning.

In cooperation with the Department of New Media and Communication and the New Media and Communication Club, an interview titled "Career Management in New Media" was organized. To the event, which was held on Monday, October 3rd, at 15.00, at the Seminar Hall 2 in the Ataköy Campus, Kültür Point Educational Events Planning and Organization Specialist Assistant Efe Anğın participated as a speaker. Efe Anğın, who told the students about his own story, mentioned that doing an internship in the field of new media and following the agenda are extremely critical for the sector. Answering the questions of the students, Anğın also showed the mail writing techniques in practice. Efe Anğın ended the event by referring to websites and applications that can help first-year students of the Department of New Media and Communication in their lessons.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBIGEN) held a “Department Orientation Meeting” on Monday, October 3, 2022 to prepare the newly registered students for the 2022-2023 Academic Year. At the meeting where the academic staff of the department was introduced, Assist. Prof. Alp Ayan made a presentation about registering to the courses, how to use the CATS website, about the regulations and the life at the campus.

As a part of the incorporation and entrepreneurship activities of İKÜ Technology Transfer Office (TTO), İKÜ TTO Deputy Director Alparslan Güzey who is also a partner, signed a contract to establish Atam Technology Co. Ltd.

Urban airspace will be intensively used by manned and unmanned aerial vehicles in the near future. It is foreseen that human-controlled airspace control will not be sufficient. Autonomous UATMs will be developed by ATAM Technology. The "Astronomy Education Workshop for Lecturers," in which basic information will be given to lecturers so that they can convey the Astronomy topics in the curriculum better and improve themselves, will be organized by IKU Department of Physics. The workshop, which will be held with the participation of international experts in the field, will be hosted by Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on October 8-9 (between 08.30-19.00).

Orchestra IKU Auditions will be held on 10-12 October 2022 (between 11.00-17.00) at IKU Music Studio located in our Şirinevler Campus.

The "You in Me Workshop" will be organized by the Student Life Career and Alumni Counselling Unit (Kültür Point) to recognize chemical and behavioral addictions, prevent risky behaviors, improve students' self-confidence by getting them to know themselves, increase empathy and saying no skills. The training, which will be given by Specialist Psychologist Aysu Çelenoğlu, will be held on Monday, October 10th, between 13.00-16.00 in the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall.

Kültür Point will organize “Turkish Sign Language Education” in order to raise awareness about deaf and hearing impaired people in the society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training, which will be given by trainer Eser Dalyan, will be held on 10-11 October 2022 between 15.00-18.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall.

Molecular Biology and Genetics Club will organize a conference titled "Cognitive Neuroscience" in order to inform members on some of the multidisciplinary fields of cognitive neuroscience such as behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, physiological psychology and affective neuroscience. The event, in which Lecturer from Istanbul Bilgi University Tugay Keçeci will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, October 12 at 17.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Kültür Point will organize a training titled "Ask, Think, Ask Again, Have an Idea" as part of the "Thought and Idea Workshop" in order to contribute to the personal development of the participants. The training, which will be given by Numan Aydınoğlu, will be held on Thursday, October 13, between 17.00-20.00 on the CATS platform.

The Industrial Engineering Club will organize a conversation titled "Introduction of Departments" for the students to have an idea about the departments in the sector. The event, in which Bahadır Alpan, Planning Manager of Çelebi Ground Handling, and Özlem Tün Saka, Quality Manager will be the speakers, will be held on Friday, October 14, between 14.00-16.30, at Seminar Hall 2.

Kültür Point will organize the "Diction and Etiquette Training" to teach the rules of etiquette and courtesy that they can apply in all areas of life by ensuring that the participants can speak Turkish effectively. The training, which will be given by Özcan Tekdemir, will be held on Friday, October 14, between 15.00-18.00, at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.
