Our Head of the Department of International Relations, Prof. Dr. Çağla Gül Yesevi, appeared as a guest on the program “Gerçek Fikri Ne?” which was broadcasted live on Habertürk TV on Saturday, August 3rd, moderated by Eren Eğilmez.

Students of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture won 7 of the 21 awards given in the "Murat Artu and the Passion for Architecture Student Competition," which was organized for the second time this year.

The competition, themed "Design a Place for a Fictional Hero", is open to first-year students and aims to contribute to the adoption and love of the architectural profession by rewarding students' original ideas. The jury of the competition, consisting of respected academics and professionals, also included a representative who had received an award last year. This representative was IKU Department of Architecture student Mehmet Küçük.

In the competition, where Istanbul Kültür University Department of Architecture students also achieved great success last year, participants were additionally required to submit a short film along with their project this year.

İdil Akkuzu for their support during the competition process.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering conducted a training session on “Effective Communication” on Tuesday, July 30th. The course was delivered by Prof. Dr. Işıl Zeybek, Head of the Department of Communication Arts, and Res. Assist. Kübra Karapınar Eyvel, one of our faculty members from the same department.

The “DEICy 2024-Digital Economy, Internet of Things, Cybersecurity” event organized by Enterprise Europe Network, of which Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Technology Transfer Office (TTO) is a member, will be held in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, between 25-29 November 2024. The event, which will be held online, aims to bring together relevant research and development institutions, business/industry partners, European institutions, civil society organizations to gain a better understanding of digital transformation in areas such as digital economy and society, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, data science, industry 4.0. Cyber security, internet of things, 3D printing, robotics and automation, sensors, digital simulation of production and logistics processes, CAD/CAM/CAE/Digital Twin, cloud computing, digitalization of product and service offerings, 5G technology, business intelligence software are the main topics of the event. The event, which will be held free of charge, primarily aims to reach companies looking for technology, research/commercial collaborations and institutions/organizations engaged in R&D.

The Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), a public-private partnership between the European Union and the European Pharmaceutical Industry, is organising an interactive training to share methods and resources for the secure sharing of data in consortium projects.

This training will be held online on September 4, 2024, between 15:00 and 16:30 CEST.

The training will centre on the Data Sharing Playbook developed by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and used for sharing data from IMI and IHI projects. This document contains many functions, such as important strategies, resources, guidelines, and standards for data management. Participants will be able to access the document before the meeting, download the data sharing book, practice with their own data, and clarify their questions.

Topics to be discussed in the training will include the basic principles of data sharing, challenges in multi-partner projects, sharing confidential data, and intellectual property rights. At the end of the training, participants will be able to use the data sharing book to the data they have acquired within the scope of their own projects.

Participation in the training is free, and registration is compulsory.

The IKU Technology Transfer Office will be holding an online event titled "From Failure to Success: Inspiring Journeys" on Wednesday, August 14th, at 2.30 p.m. Fatih Durmaz, Co-Founder of KODGEM Technology, Safa Batuhan Aslantaş, Co-Founder of Tekno Sürüm, and Ahmet Kerim Nalbant, Director of Teknopark Istanbul Incubation Center, will participate as speakers in the event to be moderated by Assist. Prof. Artür Yetvart Mumcu, Head of our Department of Entrepreneurship.
