Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) commemorated the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with ceremonies held on the 85th anniversary of his passing away. Ceremony ceremonies will be held on Thursday, November 10 at 09.05 in the front garden of Bakırköy campus hosted in Ataköy; Our Board of Trustees Chairperson Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver, our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız, our General Secretary Ender Rıza Ekici, our deans, academic-administrative staff and followers attended.The ceremony started with the presentation of a wreath to the Atatürk bust by our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver, and our Rector, Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, and ended with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız met with our student club presidents at Kültür College Alumni Lounge on Monday, 6th of November. Kültür Point Unit Head Assist. Prof. Neslihan Fatma Er made the opening ceremony and during the presentations of our club presidents, İKÜ Sports Coordinator Dr. İsmail Çakıt announced the graduation of EUSA. Then plaques were presented to those who contributed to the podcast project titled "To us, 100th anniversary of the republic".

Department of Radio Television and Cinema hosted SETEM (Professional Association of Cinema and Television Work Owners) Chairperson Director Mehmet Güleryüz, SETEM Honor Board Member Screenwriter Feza Sınar and SETEM Member Nazım Özdemir at the "4th My Work Educational Practices" seminar. In the seminar which was held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:00 in the 1G-05 multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus, our students were informed about copyright violations and the points that the owners of the works should pay attention to. The importance of copyright was emphasized at the event, where short films produced from the winning scripts of the My Work Competition organized by SETEM were screened.

Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Industrial Engineering Department and Fashion Design Program students organized a technical trip to FLO Shoes under the leadership of Kültür point Graduate Relations Coordinator. During the trip that was held on Friday, 3rd of November, our students visited FLO, a shoe store chain, and had the opportunity to closely examine the operation of the company. Our students visited FLO's head office and retail stores and learned about the functioning of the shoe industry. By examining FLO's history, product design processes and store operations, our students learned about the company's founding process, growth story and sustainability efforts. During the trip, students were also given advice about career opportunities in the business world.

"Marketing Summit" was held on 7-8 November in cooperation with the Effective Communication Club and the Department of Communication Arts. At the summit, which was supported by different clubs, the Rock and Culture Club gave a concert at the opening of the first day. In the first session of the summit, Tat Gıda's Marketing Director Didem Evgülü presented "From a Traditional Brand to an Innovative Brand" to the students. In the second session, Ömer Barbaros Yiş, General Manager of Lc Waikiki E-Commerce, gave a speech titled “Touching the Heart." In the third session, Brand Planet Founder Şahin Sezer Dinçer informed the students on the topic of "From a Simple Idea to a Unique Magical Journey". The second day of the summit started with a performance by the Dance Club. Then, in the first session, Sevda Tarcan Demir, CMO of E-Bebek, spoke on "Brand Building" and Gönül Gültekin, CMO of Divan, spoke on "Creative Marketing, Unique Approaches to Influence Young Consumers."

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School of higher education hosted Dr. Rim Mosbeh from Université de Sousse, one of our partner universities, at the Incirli building of Bakırköy campus on Friday, 3rd of November 2023, to develop cooperation and produce new projects.

Assist. Prof. Bilge Şan Özbilen, Deputy Head of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at the Faculty of Architecture, presented her verbal statement titled "Determination of the Optimum External Wall Type in the Design Phase" at the "15th National Acoustics Congress and Exhibition" event held at Trakya University under the leadership of the Turkish Acoustics Association (TAKDER) on 2nd-3rd of November 2023.

A seminar on "Occupational Health and Laboratory Biosafety Rules" was held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, for students conducting their projects in the research laboratory of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBİGEN). In the seminar given by İKÜ Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Cumhur Gültekin and Assist. Prof. Sinan Meriç from MOBİGEN, the working conditions of research laboratories and the rules that are to be followed when working in a laboratory were explained in detail.

Bilal Boğa, Founder of Walther Kranz Communication Agency, gave the fourth lecture of the "Digital Communication Academy Young Communicators School", organized in cooperation with Kültür Point and the Department of New Media and Communication, with the topic "Crisis Management in Digital Communication.” After the case analysis, which included comprehensive and long-term discussions, the studies were presented, and the training was completed.

Our faculty members and graduates of the Department of Industrial Engineering presented laboratory studies at the "42nd Operations Research and Industrial Engineering Congress" held in Gaziantep between 1st-3rd of November.

A "Greeting Party" was organized by the Interior Architecture and Design Club in the backyard of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building on Friday, 3rd of November . At the event, which was held with active participation, the club was introduced and refreshments were served. After the introduction and networking processes, the party ended.

A technical trip was organized to DeFacto within the scope of the "IE7405 Supply Chain Management" course given by Assist. Prof. İlayda Ülkü, Deputy Head of Industrial Engineering Department.

The Mathematics-Computer Club organized an "Alumni Panel" on Monday, November 6 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of Bakırköy campus. Six of our alumni, who are experts in their fields, shared their experiences with our students at the event. The panel ended after the question-and-answer session.

The Leadership and Management Club organized an event titled "Lead-Manager 2023" at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Centre on Tuesday, November 7. Arda Diribaş, Research and Innovation Director of Danone, Aydın Süha, General Manager of LOFT, and Emre Mollahahmetoğlu, Head of Data and Digital Transformation Department of Renault- Oyak Group attended the event as speakers.

Kültür Point will organize "Job Preparation Trainings" to support students' career planning processes. On Monday, November 13, the training will be held on CATS with the title of "Interview Techniques".

The Department of Foreign Languages will organize an event titled "Short Film Review" to improve the communication skills of English Preparatory Class students through short film review. The event will be held on Monday, November 13th at 14:00 at the Bahçelievler campus, YDB-608 numbered classroom.

Kültür Point will organize "Turkish Sign Language Training" in order to raise awareness about deaf and hearing-impaired people in the society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training, which will be given by instructor Eser Dalyan, will be held on November 13-14, 2023, between 15.00-18.00 at the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

The Cartoon and Animation Club will organize a movie screening event to increase the interaction of members with each other. The event, where the movie "Spiderverse 2" will be screened, will be held on Monday, November 13 at 16.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy Campus Ataköy building.

The Cinema Club will organize a film watching event on Monday, November 13th between 18.00-21.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of Bakırköy campus. During the event, Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski's Blizna will be screened.

Kültür Point will introduce "Global Career Education & Internship Programs" via the Teams platform on Monday, November 13, at 19.00.

The Justice Defence and Ombudsman Club will visit the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Youth Assembly on Tuesday, November 14, between 18.00 and 22.00, to support students in communicating with local governments and exchanging ideas.

In cooperation with Kültür Point and the Department of Foreign Languages, "Business English Training" will be organized for our students and graduates via CATS on Wednesday, November 15th.

Program of Tourism and Hotel Management will organize an event titled "Career Conversations" to support the career planning processes of the students. The event, where Ramada Plaza by Wydham Sultanahmet General Manager Ferhat Keleş will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 15.00 at Ramada Plaza by Wydham Sultanahmet.

Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) will bring together the painting exhibition "Words and Colours" prepared by 13 artists, inspired by the 13 novels of writer İskender Pala, with Kültür members on Wednesday, November 15. The exhibition, which will open on Wednesday, November 15 at 15.00 at the İKÜSAG Exhibition Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus, can be visited until December 6.

"Diction and Effective Body Language Training" will be organized by Kültür Point for the participants to speak Turkish effectively and use body language correctly. The training to be given by Özlem Berkit will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, between 15.00-18.00 in the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

 The Animal Protection and Sustenance Club will organize a bazaar on the ground floor of the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus on 16-17 November in order to raise money to fund the clinical expenses of our little friends on IKU campuses.

As a part of the "Conversations on Contemporary Art" event series organized by the Department of Communication and Design, artist İsmet Doğan will be paying a visit to IKU.  The event, in which the artist Ismet Doğan will talk about their art, creative process and sources of inspiration, will be held on Thursday, November 16, at 13.00 in the Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) continues to bring various events to Kültür students and art lovers.  The Cypriot performer, songwriter and composer Fikri Karayel will take the stage for music lovers at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Thursday, November 16, at 19.00.  The song titled "Hayal Edemezsin" by Karayel, becoming recognisable with their first album "Zor Zamanlar" released in 2014, has been used as the soundtrack of various TV series and movies.

An "Alumni Panel" event will be organized by the Industrial Engineering Club for the department graduates to talk about their insights and experiences to the students.  The event, to which Vivense Category Manager Can Akbaş, Şişecam Supply Planner Ebru Gün and Goodyear Senior Business Analyst Tugçe İnan will attend as the speakers, will be held on Friday, November 17, between 12.00-16.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBİGEN) will organize an event where the data analyses gathered in the study titled "Alternative Methods in the Treatment of Bacterial Infections" will be discussed. The event, to which Dr. Nazlı Ataç from Koç University Cellular and Molecular Medicine Program will attend as the speaker, will be held on Friday, November 17, at 15.00, at the Prof. Dr. Atilla Özalpan Seminar Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

Mathematics-Computer Club will organize an event titled "DevXperience Session 2" to provide students with information about the sector.  The event, to which Al Business School Data Scientist Ömer Cengiz will attend as the speaker, will be held on Friday, November 17, at 15.00, in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus ground floor d corridor amphitheater 4.
