The "Republic Talks" event series organized within the scope of the 100th anniversary of Cumhuriyet newspaper, established in cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) and Kültür College Foundation. The first guest of the event series, which took place on Thursday, January 4, at 14.00 at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus, was the Psychologist & Writer Prof.Dr. Üstün Dökmen.

The opening speeches of the event were made by our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and Cumhuriyet Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Mine Esen.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata and ITU Sustainability Office Representatives visited our University on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. At the meeting, where the issues related to rankings and sustainability were considered, the cooperations planned between Istanbul Kültür University and Istanbul Technical University were also discussed.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız and our Secretary General Ender Rıza Ekici attended the meeting while representing ITU, Prof. Dr Lütfiye Durak Ata, Assoc. Prof. Börte Köse Mutlu, Assist. Prof. Ebru Acuner Düret and Lecturer Dr. Elif Maçin attended the meeting.

Within the framework of the "Social Contribution Policy" vision, Istanbul Kültür University aims to increase the university's scientific and technological research competence and social contribution in line with social responsibility awareness with all its units. The first of the main goals pursued to realize the core values ​​on which our university's social contribution policy is to carry out joint work with NGOs to support the institutional development of organizations.

In line with this goal, "Project Cycle Management" (PCM) training was given to NGOs operating in the district between 3-5 January 2024, in cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and Bağcılar Municipality. In the PCM training, which aims to increase the institutional capacity of NGOs in accessing national and international funds, the determination of the project idea, the design and planning of the project, the evaluation processes of the funding institutions, the implementation of the project and the monitoring and evaluation stages of the project were discussed. In the last part of the training, information was given about active calls and supports.

At the end of the training given by our TTO Manager Cüneyt Genç, certificates were presented to the participants by our Vice Rector and Our TTO A.Ş. Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız and Bağcılar Mayor Abdullah Özdemir.

After the mutual visits and meetings held under the coordination of Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Technology Transfer Office (TTO), a cooperation protocol was signed between Istanbul Kültür University Motion Analysis Application and Evaluation, Application and Research Centre (İKÜ-HAM) and Istanbul Arel University Medical, Software Artificial Intelligence Application and Research Centre (AREL MED-I) to develop joint research and projects.

A visit was paid to IKU Faculty of Architecture by Yıldız Technical University Construction Club in order to promote the "CIVIL ISTANBUL Engineering and Architecture Conferences" to be held between 1-3 March 2024.  At the meeting, participated by IKU Deputy Dean Assoc. Dr. Gamze Alptekin, Taha Yiğit Şen and Emirhan Aksoy, both students of the Department of Architecture, besides encouraging the IKU students to attend the CIVIL ISTANBUL event, cooperation opportunities between YTU Construction Club and İKÜ Architecture Club were also discussed.

A seminar titled "Design of Tomorrow: Navigating the Digital Frontier with AI" was organized by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus. Prof. Dr.  Havva Alkan Bala rom Çukurova University Faculty of Architecture Department of Architecture participated in the seminar a speaker.  Prof.  Dr.  Alkan Bala also virtually joined and lectured as a guest lecturer on the "IAD0947 Studio Workshop I" and "IAD0937 Creative Thinking and Design" courses given in the 2023-2024 Fall Semester in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design.

The IKU Head of Department of International Relations, Prof. Dr. Çağla Gül Yesevi joined in onto the live Tele 1 broadcast on Saturday, January 6 at 21.00 and gave insights on the Israeli Intelligence Mossad.

The story "Yeni Hayat", which was included in the book "Birtakım Rivayetler" by Res. Assist. Buğra Mert Alkayalar, a faculty member of IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, was included in the story anthology "Anthology of Turkish Science Fiction Stories" published by Transnational Press London Publishing in the UK under the title "A New Life."

The book, which is the first Turkish science fiction story anthology and published under the posthumanism series, brings together the stories of 35 different writers from Türkiye on the theme of science fiction. We congratulate our lecturer and wish them many readers.

Prof. Dr. Çağla Gül Yesevi, Head of our Department of International Relations, talked about the Israeli Intelligence Service Mossad as a guest on GZT Youtube channel.

 "Graduate Student Seminars" will be held by IKU Physics Department on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10.30 in the Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.
