Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hanife Öztürk Akkartal hosted the members of the Board of Directors of the Association of Women Academics (TÜRKKAB) in her office. At the meeting held on Tuesday, August 9, an agreement was made that our university would contribute and support all kinds of activities of the association.

To the competitions partaking in “TEKNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival,” which is held under the leadership of Turkish Technology Team Foundation and TR Ministry of Industry and Technology, and with the support of Türkiye’s leading technology companies, public institutions, media organizations and universities, more than 149 thousand teams and more than 500 thousand competitors applied this year.

İrem Nur Yıldırım (Team Captain & Reporting and Design Supervisor - Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering), Şevval Nur Dönmezler (Technical and Hardware Systems Supervisor - Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering), Furkan Karayel (Reporting and Design Supervisor - Department of Industrial Engineering), Elif Şeker (“Image Processing with Artificial Intelligence” Supervisor - Department of Mathematics and Computer Science), Faruk Emre Özcan (Technical and Hardware Systems Supervisor - Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering), Arda Yaşar Erdoğan (Communications and Database Supervisor - Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences) and Burak Şehitoğlu (Mobile Application Development Supervisor - Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering) are in our team, which has been working for about two years under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr Emel Yavuz, Co-Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences. 

As a result of the application to the European Commission, in addition to the 265 thousand Euros we received from the European Commission, our university has been entitled to receive 84 thousand Euros grant support to realize the exchange of university students, academic and administrative personnel in the period of Erasmus+ KA171 2022 Call for Proposals with partner universities in Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Kenya, Cameroon, Nigeria and Bangladesh. Our university was ranked 33rd according to the amount of grants to be given among the 87 universities that were eligible for grants and ranked 7th among foundation universities.

Boytorun Architecture Managing Partner Yudum Boytorun, Design Center Coordinator Rumeysa Mavzer and UNIVATION Bilen Sınai Mülkiyet ve Mühendislik Ltd. Şti. Sti. General Manager Hakan Eryılmaz visited IKU Technology Transfer Office on Monday, August 8th. At the meeting, which was also attended by Innovation Coach Salih Keskin and the faculty members of IKU Architecture, it was agreed to develop joint collaborative projects within the scope of university-industry cooperation and to provide consultancy services to projects that are currently being carried out.

The book titled "Current Approaches in Entrepreneurship", which was written thanks to the collaboration of respected academicians in the field and very valuable authors who have earned respect due to their work, was published under the editorship of the academicians of the Department Entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU). "Current Approaches in Entrepreneurship", which brings together the theoretical dimension of entrepreneurship as well as the experiences in the ecosystem, is a book that was written not only to broaden the horizons especially of young entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs in the ecosystem but also to provide guidance.

Program of Business Management second year students who successfully completed the Micro Software ERP based "Computer Aided Financial Accounting Applications" course, were presented Micro Software success certificates by Head of Program of Business Management  Dr. Lecturer N. Gözde Bircan and Program Advisor Lect. Emine Anık at the ceremony held on Thursday, August 11 at 14.00 in the garden of İncirli campus.

A contract was signed on Tuesday, August 9th with IKU Department of Civil Engineering Vice President Assist. Prof. Mehmet Nurettin Uğural under the Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Technology Transfer Office (TTO) incorporation and entrepreneurship activities, in order to establish Mavi Digital Media Project Management, Education, Consultancy and Engineering Trade. Ltd.

Mavi Digital Media Project Management, Education, Consulting and Engineering Trade. Ltd. Sti. is an academic-based company established for the purpose of providing consultancy and training, developing projects and technology, importing, exporting, and investing at a national and international level. By creating an effective platform for innovation and knowledge management, the company will provide services at the Academy-Industry-TGB intersection for the commercialization of technology-based innovative ideas and the transfer of academic research onto industry.
