Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Head of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver published a message regarding the IKU agenda which has changed with the New Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). My Dear Kültür Family, The earthquake in Izmir last week shook us all deeply as the country. I would like to convey my get well soon wishes to all my colleagues whose family and relatives are in Izmir. We all wish not to experience such painful events again. We are going through difficult days trying to manage the side effects of a health and safety centered crisis. However, there are also developments that encourage us about the future in the ordinary course of daily life. In particular, we are honored to see that our university is among the top 50 universities in the TÜBİTAK 2020 Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index, where we understand the vital value of science and research more and more. I congratulate all my colleagues who contributed to this success that crowned our excitement as we continue our preparations for the BİLSAP Scientific and Artistic Activities Support Program Award Ceremony planned for Thursday, November 26, 2020. I wholeheartedly believe that in the index prepared according to 22 indicators in four dimensions: "Scientific technological research competence", "intellectual property pool", "cooperation and interaction" and "economic contribution and commercialization", we will carry our university higher with its studies. My Dear Kültür Family, I am aware that you are trying to cope with many factors that affect your motivation to work and produce. While feeling the pressure of health, safety and economy on the one hand, we struggle to exist by producing in life on the other hand. Especially in this period when there was a serious economic recession, we, as the Kültür family, have made a serious effort for the last 8 months in terms of maintaining our standards and ensuring the security of our colleagues. However, the current economic conditions have reached a level that requires careful management until the end of next year. For this reason, considering the business and economic balances, we have put part-time work and unpaid leave on our agenda as an option. None of the decisions made during this time are personal. All decisions are an unwanted result of the difficult process through which we are going. Although the circumstances confront us with the turnouts, I would like to point out that every name of our academic and administrative staff who worked hard for Kültür is very valuable to us, and thank everyone of them. My Dear Kültür Family, It is our common wish to return to our previous order in health and safety. In this context, our Support Services Department "Within the Scope of Return to Our Campuses After COVID-19"carefully carries out hygiene studies. In November, a large-scale sterilization work will be carried out in all common areas used by our academic and administrative staff. I especially ask you to follow the hygiene, mask and distance rules much more carefully nowadays, where the seriousness of the second wave is emphasized with concrete statistics. My Dear Kültür Family, As a university, there are two very important dates in November for our values and mission; 10th of November Atatürk Memorial Day and 24th of November Teachers' Day. A strong program reflecting the meaning of the day was prepared with the joint work of Atatürk's Principles and the History of the Turkish Revolution Department, Kültür Point and Directorate of Corporate Communication within the scope of Atatürk Memorial Day, which is the inspiration of Kültür foundations with its principles and revolutions. I would like to ask you to support our Great Leader with your participation in the commemoration activities prepared for Atatürk's Death Anniversary, which defines us as the Kültür Family and is our most fundamental value from which we take our strength, and on this occasion I commemorate our Great Leader with respect and gratitude..
