The Hello World team, which is part of the Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Asimov Technology Club, aims to introduce people and touch their lives by learning the technologies used in the development of digital software and making use of these technologies.

Within the framework of this mission, our team, which participated in the HaCXathon idea development competition organized by Turkcell in March 2022, qualified for the 3rd place with the ideas they produced and the prototypes they created in the event where 80 university students competed with 20 different teams.

In addition, our team continues to work on the PUMA project, which is planned to be implemented in the school with the Istanbul Kültür University Directorate of Information Systems and Technologies, which will make the process more controlled and fun by gamifying educational activities.

The seminar titled "The Role of Biotechnology in Protection and Treatment" organized by the Department Molecular Biology and Genetics on Wednesday, 13 April 2022, made a difference with drug and vaccine studies in the COVID-19 era, Biotechnology Quality Control Manager Dr Başak Özata and Biotechnology Vaccine Project Coordinator MSc. Nilgün Özdural attended as speakers. Speaking at the event, Dr Başak Özata gave detailed information about the process of biosimilar drug production carried out with university-industry collaborations and multidisciplinary approaches, as well as the control mechanisms and the contribution of these challenging studies supported by domestic investments to our country. MSc Nilgün Özdural, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in biotechnological production, presented in detail the pandemics, vaccine types and biotechnological vaccine production processes that have taken place until today, including COVID-19.

In the seminar, where MOBIGEN students had the chance to learn in detail how the knowledge they gained in the lessons took place in the industry, and what steps the R&D laboratories and production processes consisted of, detailed information was also shared about internship and post-graduate employment options in the field of biotechnological production. After the seminar, the research laboratories of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics were introduced. Undergraduate and graduate students who actively carry out research activities in laboratories, had the opportunity to learn from Dr Başak Özata and MSc Nilgün Özdural. Opinions were also shared about future collaborations with Atabay Kimya in laboratories that have sufficient infrastructure and research potential for biotechnological studies.

The products of the workshop titled "Muğla Faces in/Over Disasters: Forest Fires 2021" organized with Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University on March 5-6, 2022 as part of the Architectural Episodes Symposium organized by the Department of Architecture, were presented at the ceremony held on Thursday, April 14, at 14.00, opened to visitors. At the opening ceremony where our Rector Prof. Dr. Hanife Öztürk Akkartal gave her speech, the message of our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver was also read. The works that will be exhibited in the Ataköy Campus, ground floor A corridor until April 26, 2022 will await their visitors at the TMMOB Chamber of Architects of Turkey Istanbul Büyükkent Branch Karaköy Building between April 28 and May 8. The works are also planned to be exhibited at the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) meeting to be held in Madrid-Spain between 31 August and 3 September.

IKU Department of Architecture brought together Gökçe Dede from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Reconstruction and Urban Planning and Anıl Serican Delibay from Beylikdüzü Municipality Planning and Project Directorate with students on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.  Our guests, who gave an online seminar titled "Plan to Building Application Experiences" within the scope of "MIM8026 Reconstruction and Professional Practice" and "ARC8026 Urban Development and Professional Practice" courses conducted by Prof. Dr. Evrim Özkan, gave support to our students from the legislation on the topics of the roles of the architect, the things to know and the process from the city to the building and offered a wide range of experiences.

Lecturer Dr. Gökhan Kırbaç, Head of the Program of IKU Vocational School Logistics gave lectures at Kenyatta University in Kenya between 21-25 March 2022 within the scope of Erasmus+ KA107 Staff Exchange Teaching Program.

IKU Vocational School Program of Fashion Design students are working on felt in the company of Instructor and Felt Artist Dr. Selçuk Gürışık, within the scope of the "Basic Art Education" course. Dr. Gürışık has created an exemplary model in the field of branding by bringing the cultural symbols of felt, which is a handicraft product, from traditional to contemporary and from local to global. The Felt-Handcraft movement he started is also used by other designers and artists today. Thinking that every art has a craft and every craft has an art, Dr. Gürışık carries his collections to the future with innovative and forward-thinking techniques and attaches importance to this value in the education of our young designer candidates.

Within the collaboration of Effective Communication Club, New Media and Communication Club, +1 Down and Autism Awareness Club, Department of New Media and Communication, Department of Communication Arts and Program of Public Relations and Publicity via CATS Collaborate on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, "Taking a Step into the Future: Interviews" An interview titled “Preparation” was held. Vestel Education Specialist Samet Aldemir, who attended the event as a speaker, explained the importance of interview techniques to the students. Aldemir also talked about his own experiences in preparing for interviews, especially for graduates.

IKU Vocational School held an interview titled "What is this NFT?" on Tuesday, April 12. New Media Artist Elçin Arpaçay participated as a speaker in the conversation held at the 1A01 29 October Republic Amphitheater in İncirli campus and as a hybrid over CATS. In the event, where our students showed great interest, NFT and Blockchain systems, which are important agenda items of today, were discussed. During the one-hour event, our students' questions on the subject were also answered. At the end of the event, flowers and a memorial plate were presented to Arpacay.

In the event held in Prof. Dr. Atilla Özalpan Seminar Hall on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in cooperation with the Molecular Biology and Genetics Club and the IEEE Club; Enes Bal, a 2020 graduate of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBIGEN), presented his presentation titled "From Project to Treatment (SMA and CRISPR Gene Therapy)".

In the speech, that the aims of “5-Gen SMA” teams, which took the first place in the competition and Enes Bal is also a member of, were mentioned, the results of Correcting the c.840 C>T Transition with Prime Editing and Increasing SMN2 Gene Activity and SMN Protein Expression by Providing the c.859 G>C Transformation discussed.

IKU Vocational School Program of Medical Documentation and Secretarial students visited Yedikule Surp Pırgiç Armenian Hospital on Wednesday, April 13, between 09:15 and 11:00 as part of the “Patient Psychology” course given by Lecturer Emin Aksan.

The Department of Communication Arts organized a trip to Arter Art Museum, within the scope of the course titled “Protocol Knowledge” moderated by Lecturer Serfinaz Ergun. Our students, who visited the retrospective ceramic exhibition of Locus Solus, Oyun Bu, and Can Değer Gurtun, which is a group exhibition of local and foreign artists in the museum, also watched Bill Fontana's audio and video installations.

An interview titled "BIOKULTUR" will be held in order to introduce the students of IKU IEEE Club, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, which they can choose after graduation. The event, where Assist. Prof. M.D. Ezgi Gizem Berkay from Istanbul Kent University will be the speaker, will take place on Saturday, April 16, between 10.00-18.00 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

The Department of New Media and Communication will organize a trip to the exhibition, which includes the interactive installation work of Refik Anadol, who has worked in the field of interactive digital art, titled " Alkazar Rüyası". The trip, which aims to increase the knowledge and experience of students about digital art applications, will be held on Tuesday, April 19, between 12.00-14.00. will be held between

English Literature Club will organize a film screening event to increase interaction among members. Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall will host the event on Tuesday, April 19 at 13.00, in which David Lynch's film Inland Empire will be screened.

With the vision of being a "Digital Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Guide", Kültür Point will organize the "Disseminating the Entrepreneurship Culture" training in order to support the solution of the problems of thousands of entrepreneurs and hundreds of ecosystem stakeholders. The training, which will be given by Çağlayan Çetin, ING Experience Projects and Innovative Platforms Director, will be held on Tuesday, April 19, between 16.30-18.00, in the 3rd floor multi-purpose hall.

A talk titled "Future at Tomorrow II" will be organized by the Express Science Club in order to provide students with information on topics and areas that will be useful in the future and where they can improve themselves. The event, where experts in their fields will be speakers, will be held on April 20-21 between 09.00-17.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

The 2022 Career Days event will be held by Kültür Point in the backyard of Ataköy campus on April 20-21, between 09.00-18.00.

IKU Law Club will organize an event titled "Petition Workshop-I: Private Law" in order to inform students about writing petitions. The event, in which Attorney Berçem Karataş from BK Law and Consultancy firm will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 14.00 at the Faculty of Law building in Şirinevler campus.

The Department of New Media and Communication will organize an interview titled "The Importance of Networking Competencies in Career Journey" in order to improve the competencies of networking, development and protection by contributing to the progress of students towards the future they prefer in their careers. The event, in which Relationship Network Development Trainer Erdal Uzunoğlu will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 14.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall.

Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences will organize an interview titled "Let's Talk About A&B: New Business Models in the New World" to inform students about new business models. The event, in which Ferrero General Manager Azmi Gümüşlüoğlu will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 20, at 14.00, at the Basın Ekspres Campus Conference Hall and as a hybrid over CATS. The event will also be broadcast live on the Youtube channel of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

The Department of English Language and Literature will organize an interview titled "Modern and Modernism" in order to provide a new perspective to modernism by helping students reinforce the topics they have learned in the lessons. The event, in which Assoc. Prof. Murat Seçkin from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 20, between 15.00-17.00 at Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall.

A conference titled "Turkish and World Economy: Indicators and Developments" will be held by the Economy Club in order to examine the latest developments in the Turkish and world economy, to understand the cause-effect relationship between the latest developments in the economy, and to make comments and predictions about the future. The event, where Piri Reis University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Aslanoğlu will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 17.30 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Hope Alkazar Stage in Beyoğlu will be visited in cooperation with the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and the Department of Cartoon and Animation. The trip, where the Alcazar Dream project of Refik Anadol Studio, which uses artificial intelligence technologies, will be shown to the students, will be held on Thursday, April 21, between 12.00-14.00.

In cooperation with the IKU Health Club and the Program of Medical Documentation and Secretariat, a conversation titled "Current Health Indicators with Examples in the Metropolitan Area" will be held in order to inform students about the processes of making health indicators usable. The event, in which Tuğba Sönal from Ataşehir District Health Directorate Health Promotion Education Unit will be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, April 21 at 13.00 in the classroom 2B04 in İncirli campus.

The Department of Industrial Engineering will organize a seminar titled "Come Together with Our Alumni" in order to support the career planning processes of the students. Suzan Güreli from BSH Turkey and Şimal Aysever Tütüncü from Arçelik Global will attend the seminar, which will be held via CATS on Thursday, April 21, 2022, between 14.00-15.00, as part of the "IE2401 Introduction to Industrial Engineering" course.

A webinar titled "How to Integrate Grammar Into Skills" will be held in cooperation with the IKU ELT Club and the English Language Teaching Club in order to provide English teacher candidates with the ability to effectively/efficiently teach grammar. The event, where Assist Prof. Şebnem Yalçın from Boğaziçi University and Assist Prof. Kerim Ünal from Mersin University will be speakers, will be held on Thursday, April 21 at 16.00 on CATS and BigBlueButton platforms.

Kültür Point will organize the “Generating Thoughts and Ideas Workshop.” The workshop which will be instructed by Lecturer Numan Aydınoğlu is on April 21, 2022, Thursday, at 17.00 via CATS.

The Psychology Club will organize an event titled "The Perspective of Neuropsychoanalysis on Psychotherapies" in order to inform students and experts working in the field about the perspective of neuropsychoanalysis on psychotherapies. The event, where psychiatrist Hakan Atalay will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, April 22 at 12.30 in the Z-A-3 lecture hall.

Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences will organize a webinar to inform students about education opportunities in Europe. The event, where Kare Education Co-Founder Olcay Erten will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, April 22 at 15.00 on CATS.

Kültür Point will organize “Diction and Effective Body Language Education” so that participants can speak Turkish effectively and use body language correctly.
