Our lecturer Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Sayın Bahri Öztürk, the Dean of our Faculty of Law and esteemed Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dieter Kindel from the University of Vienna shared their knowledge and experiences with our students at the “Turkish Austrian Comparative Penal Law Seminar.”

Fine Arts Application and Research Center brought the play titled “Ben Anadolu” staged by the master acting of Ayça Bingöl, with the art-lovers. In the play, which was in the program within the scope of “International Women’s Day”, the story of 16 different women characters who have witnessed the different ages of Anatolia is told. Student of Yıldız Kenter, Ayça Bingöl’s “Ben Anadolu” in which she did an exceptional performance, was highly applauded by the art lovers. The play, directed by Görkem Yeltan, as Baba Zula undertakes the music, met the audience on March 17 Thursday at 19.00. The events of the Fine Arts Application and Research Center will continue with the concert of Anadolu Nefes Beşlisi on April 28, 2022.

With the support of Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Architecture, an online event was organized by AssiaX-G100 Design & Lifestyle Community, in order to bring different country representatives and all the young talents on “March 8 International Women’s Day.” The main theme of the event titled “Empowering the Young Woman Talents in Design” was “sustainability, durability and biologic diversity.”

The international event which was announced in more than 10 countries around the world, organized as available for everyone. The opening speeches were made by Prof. Dr. Hanife Öztürk Akkartal, Rector of Istanbul Kültür University, Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, and Annabella Nassati, Global Head of the AssiaX-G100 Design & Lifestyle Community. Also, the article, prepared by Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Ünver, Chairperson of the Istanbul Kültür University Board of Committees.

The event continued with the moderation of Dr Suzan Sanlı Esin, Turkey Representative of AssiaX-G100 Design & Lifestyle Community after the opening speeches. In the meeting, the announcement of the international competition titled “Queen-Bee Project” in order to increase the awareness of the rapidly decreasing bee population around the world. It was stated that the competition was only open to 7-year experienced woman designers and to students.

In the last part of the event, the young talents were asked about their career expectations regarding the future, being a woman in designing and their thoughts on “sustainability, durability and biologic diversity” which was the main theme of the event. After their answers, the event ended.

Awareness talk titled "I Succeeded" was held on Monday, March 7, 2022, within the scope of "March 8 International Women's Day", in cooperation with IKU Awareness Club and 118-T Sarıyer Leo Club. Lawyer Tuba Turan, who participated in the event as a speaker; she emphasized how she chose her profession, her acceptance to her close circle and the importance of collective work with her own life story. Hatice Nur Uzgenç shared the founding of GÜÇKADER with her family and working life. Architect Ayşen Ağma talked about her experiences while gaining the title of Turkey's First Female Construction Supervisor, through women working in occupational groups that are perceived as 'men's work'. Turkish Sign Language Instructor Gökben Keleş explained the reason and motivation for establishing the first and only University Turkish Sign Language Choir in Turkey, through his experiences with individuals and students with special needs.

At the end of the event, plaques were presented to the participants by the club presidents.

Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Müge Çetiner, department heads and lecturers met with the students. At the event held on Wednesday, March 16, our students conveyed their opinions, suggestions and requests to our dean. Our students were informed about faculty activities and internship commission work.

Serdar Bora was the guest of the "Marketing Principles" lecture given by Lecturer Dr. Meri Taksi Deveciyan in the Department of Business Administration on Tuesday, March 8th.  Bora, who came together with the students at the event held as a hybrid, shared the subject of "Marketing in the Chemical Industry" and his experiences.

The Individual Young Entrepreneurship (BIGG) Program, in which 200 thousand TL grant support is provided to entrepreneurs who want to realize their business idea, was introduced to the students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences by Marmara University Teknopark Inc. Entrepreneurship and Incorporation Specialist Doğukan Gezinti.

Gezinti, a 2021 graduate of IKU Department of Entrepreneurship, chatted with our students after the presentation. At the end of the event, Res. Assist. Taha Yusuf Çakarel, one of the faculty members of the Department of Entrepreneurship, presented a gift to our graduate.

The students of the Department of Communication Arts attended the “Berlin Quartet with Piano” concert, in which Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra took the stage, in the scope of “Protocol Information” course, by Lecturer Safinaz Ergun on March 9 Wednesday, at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall. The students who listened to the works of Mozart, Turina and Schumann, had an impressive and satisfactory experience in the name of arts and music.

The Head and the members of the Board of Management of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey Trakya Regional Representative Committee, visited Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture on March 3 2022, Thursday. In the extremely productive meeting, the topics such as enabling the internship opportunities to the students of the Department of Architecture, the announcement of the events of the Department of Architecture to the local architects, the work protocol between the Chamber of Architects of Turkey and the department were discussed.

A seminar themed Sustainability and Cyclic Transformation was held on Friday, March 4, 2022, by Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Program of Fashion Design. The opening speech of the event, moderated by Lecturer Nilgün Demirhan, was made by Asst. Prof. Sinan Kesici, Director of Vocational School. LC Waikiki Environmental Sustainability Group Manager Arzu Konyalı, Ekoteks Laboratory and Inspection Services, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Officer Esma Demirkaya Turan, TEKİŞ LASTİK R&D Manager Remzi Durmuş and Colin's Women's Denim Design Manager Uğurhan Uzun were guests at the seminar. After providing detailed information about the current situation and future of the sustainability and recylce market in Turkey and the world, recommendations were made to students who want to specialize in the field of sustainability. The event ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the guests.

The "2021-2022 Academic Year Alumni Mentoring Program" started by the Student Life, Career and Alumni Counseling Unit (Kültür Point). 22 Mentors 47 Mente applied to the program. As a result of the examinations, 16 mentees and mentors were matched based on the requests of the mentees and mentors and the sections they read. “Graduate Mentoring Opening Meeting” was held online on February 21, 2022. Then, on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 20.00, training was given to mentors and mentees within the scope of the program with the "Alumni Mentoring Training Meeting" held on the Microsoft Teams platform.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Program of Fashion Design, which always gives its students field experience and cooperates with the leading institutions and organizations of the sector in this context, continues its on-site production-design practices. The first lesson of the term was held at Colin's Head Office Education Branch on Thursday, March 10, as part of the "Education in the Workplace" activities for the "Denim Design" lesson of our 2nd year Program of Fashion Design students. In line with the collaboration with Colin's, which has been in progress for two years, the students, who start the course with Colin's Denim Design Group Management, with expert designers and managers in Colin's academy, will see a different stage of denim practically every week and experience sectoral perspectives in real time.

The works of Assoc. Prof. Reyhan Eraslan Uludağ, IKUSAG Manager and one of the academicians of the Department of Arts and Culture Management were exhibited in the scope of “ARTANKARA 8th International Contemporary Art Exhibition” between March 9-13 at Ankara.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) Program of Fashion Design visited Tekiş Lastik on Tuesday, 8 March and held meetings with company officials. Tekiş Lastik, which produces more than 3 million meters per year with narrow woven elastics, columns, strips, cat-dog collars, pet costumes, elastic belts, polyp tape types, patterns, and a wide variety of printed garment rubbers, Tekiş Lastik also wanted to contribute to our students' budgets by taking freelance pattern studies from our Program of Fashion Design students. After the technical visit was completed, the details of the freelance pattern works were discussed, and a protocol was signed between the Vocational School Program of Fashion Design and Tekiş Lastik.

An event titled “Effective Use of LinkedIn” was organized on March 15, Tuesday by the Effective Communication Club via CATS Platform. In the event, in which Mücella Ezgin, Education and Development Executive, was the speaker, the contribution that using LinkedIn actively and beneficially, to the career management processes were explained to the participants.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Program of Fashion Design organized a trip to IKU Technology Transfer Office within the scope of the “Technology and Innovation Management” course. On the trip which was on March 6, Wednesday, the explanations were made to the students about technology transfer office, incubation centre, project evaluation criteria and processes, competitions, EU projects, scientific research projects, brand, patent, innovation, establishing a company, by Alparslan Güzey, Vice Manager of Technology Transfer Office, Ece Çaygöz, Entrepreneurship and Incorporation Executive and Fatma Ünaş, Project Development Specialist. The trip, in which also our students contributed with their ideas and projects and gained different points of view, ended with the visitation to the incubation and technology transfer office centres.

A seminar series was organized within the scope of the "Research Project" course in IKU Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Interior Architecture Master's Program. All our students are invited to the seminars that will be held online on the CATS platform.

Gülay Kanoğlu and Oktay Duran, İŞKUR Bahçelievler Business- Vocational Counsellors, were the guest to the course titled “MIM0216 Quality in the Building Production Process” lectured by Assist. Prof. Gamze Alptekin, given in the Turkish Program of the Department of Architecture. Our guests who gave seminars titled “İşkur-İş Başı Education Program” and “CV from Past to Today”, explained the points they should pay attention to the job application process and the support programs İŞKUR gives on finding a job, in a detailed way to our students who will be graduated soon.

In the scope of “Cruise Transport and Marinas” course given in the Program of Tourism and Hotel Management, the customs areas of Galataport Istanbul will be showed by İlker Horozcu, Founder of Cangezi Turizm, on March 21, Monday, between 10.00-14.00.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics will organize a seminar within the scope of the “Scientific Experience course. The event, in which Prof. Dr Sabire Ferda Kaleağasıoğlu from İstinye University Faculty of Medicine, is the speaker will be on March 21, Monday at 11.00 as a hybrid (via CATS and Prof. Dr Atilla Özalpan Seminar Hall).

In cooperation with the Turkish Red Crescent and Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Awareness Club, a Blood Donation Campaign will be organized with the slogan "Can't Be Without You" in order to increase blood stocks and meet urgent blood needs. Our academic-administrative staff and students who want to donate blood can visit the stands to be set up at Basın Ekspres on Tuesday, March 22 and at Ataköy on Wednesday, March 23.

The Career Club will hold a talk titled "Career Counseling" on Tuesday, March 22, between 12:00 and 16:00. Instructor, Career Counselor & Student Coach Tuğçe Güçlünar Kengil is the speaker at the event, which will be held in Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

In cooperation with the Marketing Club and Program of Business Management, an interview titled "New Trends in Digital Marketing and New Career Opportunities" will be held in order to increase the awareness of students about new trends and career opportunities in digital marketing. The event, in which Digital Marketing Manager Enes Taşçı is the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 14.30 in the amphitheater numbered 1A01 in İncirli campus.

An interview titled " Through the Eyes of the Art Director" will be held in cooperation with the Effective Communication Club, New Media and Communication Club, +1 Down and Autism Awareness Club, Department of New Media and Communication, Department of Communication Arts and Public Relations and Publicity Program. The event, in which Art Director Tufan Karakuş will be the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 20:00 via CATS.

In cooperation with Express Science Club and Sosyopix, a talk titled "EX-Talks" will be held where students will listen to their entrepreneurship stories. The event, in which Sosyopix Co-Founder Erdem Gezer is the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at 13.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

In cooperation with the New Media and Communication Club, the Effective Communication Club and the Department of New Media and Communication, an interview titled "Data Driven Digital Marketing" will be held to inform students about the data-driven process in the field of digital marketing. The event, in which Digital Leader and Growth Strategist Veli Bahçeci is the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at 14.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall.

Program of Tourism and Hotel Management will organize a talk titled "Online Sales and Concepts in Tourism" in order to teach students online sales channels and concepts. The event, in which Xml Sales Manager Gamze Eratay is the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at 14.00 in İncirli campus.

In order to support the career planning processes of our students, the Department of International Trade and Finance will organize an "Alumni Talk" on Friday, March 25 at 11:00 on Microsoft Teams.

Industrial Engineering Club will organize an event titled "Interactive Human Resources" to inform students about CV preparation and interview. Recruitment Manager Yeliz Sekizkardeş from LC Waikiki company and Recruitment Specialist Barış Kirez is the speakers at the event, which will be held on Friday, 25 March at 14.00 at the Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall.

Kültür Point will organize “Diction and Effective Body Language Training” so that participants can speak Turkish effectively and use body language correctly. The training, which will be given by the trainer İlknur Güneş, will be held on Friday, March 25 between 14.00-17.00 in the 3rd floor multi-purpose seminar hall.
