As a result of the FEDEK Accreditation interim evaluation visit between 14-16 April 2024, the Mathematics and Computer Sciences, English Language and Literature, Turkish Language and Literature and Psychology departments of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences will have an additional 3 years added to their current 2-year accreditation period and were completed to 5 years which are the maximum accreditation period of the accreditation procedures.Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Letters and Sciences was accredited with all its departments until September 2026.

The fourth Aviation Summit, one of the prestigious organizations of Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ), was held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus. There was an intense participation in the event which brought together the leading professionals of the aviation industry. 

Experienced speakers from various branches of the industry contributed to the summit moderated by İKÜ Vocational School Civil Air Transportation Management Program Head Assist. Prof H. Neyir Tekeli and Flight Operations Management Program Head lecturer Evren Yılmaz. 

Çelebi Human Resources Director Gökçen Dervişoğlu, HAVAŞ Business Operations Manager Levent Küçüktoka and Jazeera Airways Captain Pilot Elif Güveyler shared their experiences and knowledge with the participants. 

At the summit, DHMI Air Traffic Controller Derya Özdemir, Loadmaster Mehmet Salih Baykın from ULS Airlines Cargo and Aircraft Technicians Association (UTED) Vice President Mehmet Murat Baştürk presented important information about aviation technicians. Turkish Airlines Head of Flight Training Captain Pilot Burak Bekman, expressed his views on flight training and safety. 

In addition, the summit, attended by Redstar Aviation Commercial Operations Manager Adnan Bölükbaş and Redstar Aviation Dispatch Manager Süleyman İshakbeyoğlu, enabled an expansion of information exchange in the field of commercial operations and management. Participants had the opportunity to gain knowledge from these skilled professionals who have experience in different areas of the industry. 

Istanbul Kültür University continues to successfully fulfill its mission of strengthening academic and professional dialogues in the aviation sector encouraging information exchange and contributing to the training of future aviation leaders through the "Aviation Summit".

İKÜ Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) brought together the theater play "Supporting Role", which tells the story of a female actress who cannot even be the starring role in her own life with Kültür members and theater lovers. The play, which was staged by Merve Polat at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus at 19.00 on Thursday, April 18, 2024, received great appreciation from the audience.

In the one-woman theater play about a woman's journey of coming to terms with her relationships our actress questions why she is the supporting role as a result of the pressures coming from her family, job and environment.

The short film "Station People", directed and written by Res. Assist.  Buğra Mert Alkayalar from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, had its Turkey Premiere in "3rd.  Kaş International Short Film Festival”. Alkayalar’s short film Station People will be competing in the "National Student Films" category.

Following the festival to be held in Antalya's Kaş district between 4-8 June 2024, the finalist films will be screened at Kadıköy Cinema on 12-13 June 2024, with the film crews attending the event.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Business Development, Industrial and Sectoral Relations Unit (İGESİB) was authorized by the Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK) as an "Authorized Certification Body" within the scope of "15UY0215-6 Coach Level 6" and "17UY0328-3 Service Vehicle Driver Level 3" National Qualifications.

An e-newsletter was prepared by Istanbul Kültür University, Turkish and Foreign Languages Teaching Application and Research Center (İKÜTÜMER) for the activities carried out in January, February and March 2024.

Bülent Karakoyunlu, Logistics Manager of Istanbul Pharmacists Cooperative, and a member of İKÜMED, started to take up İKÜ graduates in the company he works at. Serdar Öztürk, one of our graduates of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in 2022, started to work as an Assistant Memorandum and Reporting Specialist at the Istanbul Pharmacists Cooperative. We congratulate our graduate and wish them continued success.

Within the scope of the EIT HEI BoosTalent project, of which IKU Technology Transfer Office is the project partner, "BOOSTCamp Student Entrepreneurship Camp" will be held on the B-1 floor of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building between 23-25 ​​April (09.00-14.00).

"Sports Law Conference" will be organized by the International Law Club in order to convey current information in the field of Sports Law to students. The event, where lawyers, academics and sports people who are experts in their fields will be speakers, will be held on April 24-25, between 09.00-13.00 at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

The Department of Turkish Language and Literature will organize a trip to Emirgan Grove Park on Wednesday, April 24, to show students the tulip garden and explain its historical past.

Informatics and Technology Law Club will organize a conference titled "Digitalization and Malpractice Cases in Health Law" in order to inform students about the differences that technology-related innovations in health law create in terms of clarification texts and their effects on malpractice cases. The event, where Lawyer Ali Karakurt and Lawyer Çiğdem Özmen will be speakers, will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 12.30 at the Bahçelievler campus.

"Travel Agencies Training" will be organized by the Program of Tourism and Hotel Management to provide detailed information about travel agencies and MICE organizations. The event, where Istanbul Travel Development Association (İSATAG) Chairperson Aylin Özsavaş will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 13.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

In cooperation with the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicana Health Group, a conference titled "Health Education II: I AM the Friend, I AM the Enemy" will be held to ensure that students gain up-to-date information. The event, where Dermatology Specialist Prof. Dr Gülsüm Gençoğlan from Medicana Ataköy Hospital will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 13.00 in the Bahçelievler campus Block C seminar hall.

The Law Club will organize the "Petition Workshop" event to inform students about the petition writing they will need in their professional lives. The event, where lawyer Gülşen Orman will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 24, at 13.00, in the classroom number 306 on the 3rd floor of Bahçelievler campus.

A panel talk titled "Today's Human Relations Through the Lens of Philosophy" will be organized by the Philosophy Club in order to inform students about philosophy and human relations today.  The event, in which Prof. Dr. Betül Çotuksöken from Maltepe University is to be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 14.00 in the Seminar Hall II in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

Istanbul Kültür University Art Gallery (IKUSAG) continues its 2023-2024 season with "Notice: Free Wings of Nature" Onur Salkım Photography Exhibition. The exhibition, which includes 30 photographs taken from Onur Salkım's lens in various parts of Türkiye in its natural environment along with informative notes, will be opened to visitors on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 15.00 at the IKUSAG Exhibition Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building. The exhibition will be open until May 29, 2024.

The traditional "Architects and Interior Architects on Stage" event organized by the Faculty of Architecture will be hosted by Bakırköy campus Ataköy building on Wednesday, April 24 at 15.00. At the event, which will be held in the winter garden on the B1 floor (in front of Akpaz), students with high-honor and honor degrees will be presented their certificates. The event will continue with a concert.

IKU Faculty of Science and Letters continues to organize "Not Just for the Sake of Coffee Meetings" in order to share studies that are important in terms of research and analysis in the field of Basic Science and Social Sciences. The seminar titled "Stem Cells and Their Relationship with Cancer" which will be given by Assist. Prof. Özge Rencüzoğulları from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 15.00 at Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall.

In cooperation with the Design Factory, Mathematics-Computer Club, Artsy-Craftsy Club and Game Design and Development Club, an event titled "Ants Fusion" will be organized to bring students together with companies in the digital game industry. The event, in which Gökhan Üzmez from Ludus company and Betül Aras Bayır from Bilgi University will be the speakers, will be held on Thursday, April 25th between 10.00-18.00 at the Design Factory in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics will organize a seminar titled "Organ Transplantation and Immunological Tests Before Transplantation" to inform the students about transplantation in Türkiye, the waiting patients, our position in the world in transplantation, cadaveric transplants, family permissions and laboratory techniques used before transplantation. The event, in which Dr. Mehtap Ülker will be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 15.00 at Atilla Özalpan Seminar Hall.

An informative event titled "Education Opportunities in the Erasmus+ Programme" will be held with the joint efforts of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Technology Transfer Office and the Governorship of Istanbul. The event, in which The IKU Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Emine Müge Çetiner, as well as from the Governorship of Istanbul Kadir Fatih Mutlu and Ahmet Bahadır Sıriş are to be speakers, will be held on Friday, April 26, at 10.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

A conference will be organized by Department of Turkish Language and Literature to demonstrate the contributions of Anar Rzayev, one of the most significant names to come out of Azerbaijan, to Turkish language and Turkish literature.  The event, in which President of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union Anar Rzayev, Assoc. Prof. Pervin Nuraliyeva and Turkish Literature Magazine Editor-in-Chief İmdat Avşar are to be speakers, will be held on Friday, April 26, at 14.00 in the Seminar Hall II in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.

A panel talk titled "How Visual Arts Influences You to Think" will be organized by the IKU Vocational School in order to inform students about visual arts and the works.  The event, in which painter Merih Akçam will be the speaker, is to be held on Friday, April 26, at 15.00, at the 29 Ekim Cumhuriyet Amphitheater (1A-01) in the Incirli building of the Bakırköy campus.

The Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation will organize an "Alumni Panel" on Friday, April 26, between 16.00-18.00 at the Bahçelievler campus, in order to enable our graduates to share their hexperiences with our students.
