Founded by the Kültür College Foundation, our university prioritizes peace and human rights in all education, research and social responsibility activities.

Respect for thought and belief, which is essential for peace and the sustainability of peace, is also included in the 16th and 27th articles of our corporate constitution.

As Istanbul Kültür University, in accordance with our principles and values, we condemn all kinds of attacks, actions and initiatives that violate the law of war between Israel and Palestine, which target the most basic rights and freedoms, especially the lives of civilians, targeting hospitals and similar public spaces.

We reiterate our wish for "Peace at Home, Peace in the World", which we inherited from Atatürk, without compromising the principles of humanism, peace and respect in our institutional constitution.

An event titled "Civil Aviation in Türkiye" was held in Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on Wednesday, October 18, in cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Vocational School Aviation Programs and the Aviation Club.  The event to which Pegasus Chairperson Mehmet T. Nane attended as the speaker attracted great interest from the aviation industry and students.

İKÜ Vocational School Aviation Programs received much acclaim at the event with its recently received "Civil Aviation Ground Training" certificates, accreditations, education-training practices and plans for the future of the sector.   A plaque was presented by IKU Vocational School Director Prof.  Dr. Mehmet Özer to Mr. Nane, one of the leading names the industry, who shared such valuable information with the participants.

In the event moderated by Assist. Prof. H. Neyir Tekeli and Lecturer Evren Yılmaz, topics such as the current state of civil aviation in Türkiye, Pegasus Airlines' plans for the future, university-sector collaborations, the job requirements of the sector for the newly trained and competent young people in the civil aviation sector, internship and post-internship employment, and the importance of university-sector cooperation were discussed.

Following the event, Pegasus Chairperson of the Board of Directors Mehmet T. Nane, was received by IKU Rector Prof. Dr.  Fadime Üney Yüksektepe in their office. At the meeting attended by IKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız and IKU Secretary General Ender Rıza Ekici, university-sector cooperation was emphasised.

One of our the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation academicians, Assist. Prof. Adnan Apti was awarded the 'Physician of the Year' award by the journal 'Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine'. We congratulate our professor and wish him continued success.

The Head of IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz shared their insights on the issue of "Intellectual Property Rights in Cinema and Television" in the panel talk titled "Change and Transformation in the Intellectual Property Ecosystem: The Role of Law No. 5846" as a part of the project carried out with the support of the General Directorate of Copyrights of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Istanbul Kültür University students toured around Istanbul as a part of the "Service Promotion" trip event organized by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.  The Istanbul Promotional Trip, held every year in cooperation with IMM, was held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.  In the event attended by 28 students,  Sultanahmet Square, Hippodrome, ArtIstanbul and Basilica Cistern were visited. The trip event was concluded with lunch at Bahçelievler 2 Hece.

The projects of the students of IKU Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation were chosen to receive monetary aid as a part of "TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program 2023 1st Term Call".  We congratulate the advisors and students who took part in the projects.

Digital Communication Academy Young Communicators School’s, established with the joint efforts of Kültür Noktası and the IKU Department of New Media and Communication, very first lesson was held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the Ataköy campus. With Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Communication Dean Prof.  Dr. Burak Özçetin lecturing, case studies on agenda setting and journalism were conducted. The 3-hour training program was concluded with the question-answer session.

The member students of the İKÜ Assertion of Justice and Ombudsman Club attended the Youth Camp organized by the Turkish Red Crescent and the Ombudsman in Heybeliada between 1-7 October.  In the camping event attended by Chief Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç and Sadettin Kalkan, different events, trips and trainings were held.

Sezin Değirmenci, one of our student from the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, presented her project, which is carried out under the supervision of Res. Assist. İmge Nas, at the "Multidisciplinary Approaches Congress in Pelvik Pain Management and Rehabilitation" held at Yeditepe University with international participation. We congratulate our professor and student and wish them continued success.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences will organize a conference titled "Philosophy of Existence in Türkiye" with the theme of "Growing Up with Republican Values" within the scope of "Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Republic". The event, in which Prof. Dr. Kaan H. Ökten from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University the Department of Philosophy will be the speaker, will be held on Monday, October 23, at 10:00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

The Department of Psychology will organize a conference titled "Atatürk as a Philosopher" with the theme of "Growing Up with Republican Values" within the scope of "100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Republic". The event, in which Writer, Academician and Philosopher Erkut Sezgin will be the speaker, will be held on Monday, October 23, at 11.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics will organize a conference titled "A German Scientist in the Republic Period: Ord. Prof. Dr. Curt Kosswig" with the theme of "Growing Up with Republican Values" as part of the "100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Republic". The event, in which Retired Academician Prof. Dr. Nihat Aktaç will be the speaker, will be held on Monday, October 23, at 14.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Cartoon and Animation Club will organize the "Sense 4 Motion Workshop" event to promote products and allow students to try out these products. The event, in which Sense 4 Motion Advertising Manager Sedat Yılmaz will be the speaker, will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 14.00 at the Design Factory in our Ataköy campus.

Kültür Point will organize "Turkish Sign Language Training" to raise awareness about the deaf and hearing impaired people in society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training, which will be given by instructor Eser Dalyan, will be held on 23-24 October 2023 between 15.00-18.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in our Ataköy campus.

Family-Owned Businesses and Entrepreneurship Application and Research Center (AGMER) will organize a webinar titled "Inflation Accounting and Family-Owned Businesses within the Scope of Tax Procedure Law". The event, in which Prof. Dr. Peyami Çarıkçıoğlu, one of our academicians from the Department of Business Administration, and Prof. Dr. Gürbüz Gökçen from Marmara University will be speakers, will be held on Monday, October 23, at 19.00 on the ZOOM platform.

The event, in which Turkish Linguist, Turkologist and Writer Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bican Ercilasun will be the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at 10.00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

The Department of English Language and Literature will organize a conference titled "The 'Strange' Woman of the Republic: Halide Edip" with the theme of "Growing Up with the Values ​​of the Republic" as part of the "100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Republic". The event, in which the Head of the Department of English Language and Literature Prof. Dr. Işıl Baş will be the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at 11.00 in the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

In cooperation with the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics and the Department of Physics, a conference titled "Scientific Revolution of the Republic: Institutions, Scientists and Research" will be held with the theme of "Growing Up with Republic Values" within the scope of "100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Republic". The event, in which Academician & Science Historian Feza Günergun will be the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at 14.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

In cooperation with Kültür Point and the Department of Foreign Languages, "Business English Training" will be organized for our students and graduates through CATS on Wednesday, October 25th.

The Department of Radio, Television and Cinema will organize a technical visit to Demirören Media Center on Wednesday, October 25, between 09.00-18.00.

Kültür Point will organize the "Etiquette Workshop" in order to support learning the etiquette rules that must be followed in society and making them a way of life. The training, which will be instructed by Güneş Tulga under the title "Etiquette in Voice and Video Calling", will be held on Wednesday, October 25, between 12.00-15.00 in the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall in our Ataköy campus.

Istanbul Kültür University Women and Social Research Unit (IKU-KAD) will organize a symposium titled “Evaluations on Women's Rights in the 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic” as part of the "100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic Celebrations." The event, where Prof. Dr. Serpil Sancar and Dr. Dinçer Demirkent from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences and writer Yaprak Zihnioğlu will be the speakers, will be held on Wednesday, October 25 at 13.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

The Tourism and Hotel Management Program will hold a practical training at Le Meridien Hotel on Wednesday, October 25 at 15.00 in order to support students' career planning processes.

Kültür Point will organize “Turkish Sign Language Training” in order to raise awareness about deaf and hearing-impaired people in the society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training, which will be given by trainer Eser Dalyan, will be held on 25-26 October 2023 between 15.00-18.00 in the classroom numbered 2A-08 on our İncirli campus.

Kültür Point will organize "Diction and Effective Body Language Training" in order for the participants to speak Turkish effectively and use body language correctly. The training, which will be given by Özlem Berkit, will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, between 15.00-18.00 at the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall on our Ataköy campus.

IKU Vocational School will organize a talk titled "Urbanism from its Foundation to Today in the 100th Year of the Establishment of the Republic" within the scope of "100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic Celebrations.” Lecturer Dr. Burak Kaan Yılmazsoy from Gelişim University Department of Architecture will be the speaker of the event, which will be held on Wednesday, October 25, at 15.00 in classroom 1A-01 on our İncirli campus.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center continues to bring together the most beautiful events with Kültür students and art lovers. In the event to be organized by the Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM), the musical theater titled "On Living", adapted and directed by Genco Erkal, will be performed at Akıngüç Stage on Wednesday, October 25 at 19.00.

Kültür Point will organise "Addictive Relationships Addicted Personalities Workshop” to inform participants about addiction. The third of the training to be given by Psychologist Dr. Serap Duygulu, titled "Relationships with Objects", will be held on Thursday, October 26, between 15.00-18.00, in the Seminar 2 hall in our Ataköy campus.

Within the scope of the 2023-2024 Fall Semester activities of the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture, Master Architect Ömer Selçuk Baz will be the guest of our university. The event, where Baz will make his presentation titled "Architecture as Collision", will be held on Thursday, October 26, between 15.00 and 17.00, at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in our Ataköy campus.

"Software Days" event will be organized by the Mathematics-Computer Club to support career planning processes of the students. The event, where Software Developer Berkan Enes Bircan from İşBank will be the speaker, will be held on Friday, October 27, between 14.00-20.00, at Ground Floor D Corridor Amphitheatre 1 in our Ataköy campus.

Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) will host Hakan Aysev, one of Türkiye’s most important tenors, within the scope of the "100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Republic". The concert titled "My Republic" will be hosted by Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Friday, October 27, at 19.30.
