As part of the vision of developing projects within the scope of sustainable development goals, our university has put forward many successful initiatives to date regarding access to funding and grant schemes provided by the EU. Our university aims to be more actively involved in projects in order to further its scientific and technological research competence and the number of project applications.

In line with this goal, Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Technology Transfer Office (TTO) organized "Horizon Europe Project Training" for academicians on February 15-16, 2024. Within the scope of the training, information was given on active and future calls, strategic plans, project-based collaborations, project creation processes and writing language. At the end of the training, which was given by Alparslan Güzey, Deputy Director of our Technology Transfer Office, certificates were presented to the participants by our Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and our Vice Rector & TTO Board Chairperson Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız.

Journalist, Radio & TV Commentator Şafak Malatya and Journalist Nedim Güngör shared reviews about our Head of the Department of Communication Arts Prof. Dr. Işıl Zeybek, Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club Board Member Responsible for Communication, in their Youtube broadcast.

The short film named "Station People" directed and written by Res. Assist. Buğra Mert Alkayalar, one of our faculty members from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, 

 supported by the T.R. Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is in the Turkish Cinema 2024 catalogue.Turkish Cinema 2024 catalogs, presented to the international film industry, include completed and under-production full-length films, short films and documentaries, as well as contact information of festivals and production companies.The catalog prepared by BKSV (Boğaziçi Culture and Arts Foundation) will be featured at the European Film Market Turkish Cinema Stand within the scope of the 74th Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale) held between 15-21 February 2024. We congratulate our faculty member and wish him success in the journey of his film.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture Diploma A Group gave the subject of "A Resilient Research Campus and Community Hub" to its students through the theme of climate and architecture in the 2023-24 Spring Semester. On Wednesday, February 21, Prof. Dr Ayşen Ciravoğlu from Yıldız Technical University gave a seminar titled "Potential of Alternative Architectures for an Ecologically Driven Socially Engaged Istanbul", while Dr Deniz Erdem Okumuş gave a seminar titled "Impacts of Urban Morphology on Urban Climate" to students who are expected to evaluate the historical Haydarpaşa Station and the archaeological areas in the immediate vicinity.

At the end of the semester, students are expected to forward their projects to the International Student Competition organized by ACSA in America with a similar theme.

"Patara", the first episode of the documentary series called "Time Line", edited by Hakan Karan, one of our students from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, was published on Habertürk's channel and official YouTube page on February 17, 2024.In the documentary series, the editing process of which is ongoing and a new episode will be published every week, the stories of unique ancient cities in Anatolia will be told. We are proud of our student and wish ourselves continued success.

Director and producer M. Tayfur Aydın from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, took part in the 'Berlinale Meets Football Workshop' within the scope of the 74th Berlin International Film Festival held between 15-25 February 2024, as one of the mentors determined among film industry professionals worldwide.

In the workshop, the mentors explained many aspects of filmmaking such as camera techniques, script writing, and mizence creation to the football players and guided the participants to create a short film. Short films will be screened in the cities of football clubs that participated in the workshop after the Berlinale.

Our student Tayfur Aydın said, "I believe that the essence of telling stories, whether on the white screen or on the football field, is universal. This workshop is a chance to explore common values and creativity that seemingly connect different worlds."

IEEE IKU Club will organize the "WIE CAMP" event in which IEEE WIE committee students will come together to raise awareness against inequalities in the sector. The event, in which Akbank Education Technologies and Competency Development Manager Diğdem Dökmeci and Havelsan Leader Training and Management Specialist Betül Yardımcı will be the speakers, will be held on February 24-25 between 09.00-18.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building. 

"Podcast Workshop from Beginner to Advanced Level" will be organized by Design Factory in order to teach participants the basic use of equipment and explain audio content production. The event, in which Karma Türkiye Co-Founder Dilruba Özcan Hocaoğlu, Karma Türkiye Co-Founder & Radio Programmer Reha Özcan and Cinema Writer (Sinematris) & Podcaster Görkem Öge will be the speakers, will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 13.00 at the Design Factory.

A conference titled "Future'24" will be organized by the Industrial Engineering Club to support the career planning processes of our students. The event, where senior executives of large companies will be speakers, will be held on February 26-27, 2024 between 09.00-16.00 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

A conference titled "Narcissistic Personality Organization Review with Psychoanalytic Approach" will be organized by the Psychology Club to inform students about narcissistic personality disorder. The event, in which Clinical Psychologist Özge Akıncı will be the speaker, will be held on Monday, February 26 at 12:00 in the classroom numbered 3C 12-14-16 in the Ataköy building of Bakırköy campus.

An event titled "Why Export?" will be held, organized with the joint efforts of the Department of International Trade and Finance and MENTOR Customs Consultancy, to help inform students about the sector. The event, in which MENTOR Customs Consultancy CEO Dr. Hakan Çınar is to be the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, February 27, at 13.00 at the Küçükçekmece campus.

"Kültür DJ Academy Workshop" will be held on Tuesday, February 27, between 15.00-18.00 at Bakırköy campus Ataköy building Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall. 

"Not Just for the Sake of Coffee Meetings" is being resumed by IKU Faculty of Science and Letters to share academic developments that are important in terms of research and investigation in the fields of Hard Sciences and Social Sciences. The seminar titled "Doppelganger in 19th and 20th Century Literature", in which Assoc. Prof. Gillian Mary Elizabeth Alban from the Department of English Language and Literature is to be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 15.00 at Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall.

 A panel talk titled "On Motivation with Prof. Dr. Acar Baltaş" will be organized by the IKU Vocational School to motivate the participating students.  The event, in which Baltas Group Founding Partner Psychologist Prof.  Dr. Acar Baltaş is to be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, February 28, at 15.00, in classroom number 1A-01 in the Incirli building of the Bakırköy campus.

A festive event titled "WinterFest" will be held with the joint efforts of IKU Kültür Point and İBB Kültür A.Ş.  in the backyard of the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building on Thursday, February 29, between 11.00-22.30.  As a part of the festivities of the event, besides the dance and DJ performances to be held, musician Nova Norda will also take the stage for an unforgettable performance for the people of Kültür.

As a part of the "Winterfest" event, a bazaar will be opened by the Animal Protection and Survival Club in the backyard of the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus on Thursday, February 29, with the aim of raising funds to cover the medical and food expenses of our little furry friends in IKU campuses.
