Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Design Factory organized a competition called "CREATHON," which was hosted by our Ataköy campus on June 18-19, 2023. Eleven teams participated in the Türkiye-wide competition. The teams competed fiercely to be the first in the event that lasted two days and one night.

The "SONICWASH" team, which consists of students from Yıldız Technical University Department of Biomedical Engineering, won the competition with their project that saves water in medical washing processes and received 4 full gold awards. Our Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and Vice Rector Gülce Öğrüç Yıldız presented the awards to the winning team.

The "FARMAX" team, which consists of students from our university, came second with their irrigation systems project, one of the most efficient ways of agriculture, and were awarded four smart watches. Our students were presented their awards by our Secretary General Ender Rıza Ekici.

The team that won the bluetooth headset award as the third prize of the competition was "PUREGLIDE", also consisting of students from our university, with their project that saves water with instant hot water. Our students received their awards from our Design Factory Project Coordinator Meltem Zengin.

Dilek Adalı, Founder of ARDEM R&D Consulting Company, which sponsored the prizes won by the second and third place teams in the competition, also supported the competition as a jury member.

An event to showcase the poster presentations and evaluations of the dissertation writing endeavours taken on by the final year students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBIGEN) as a part of the "MBG7002 Graduation Project I" and "MBG8002 Graduation Project II" courses given in the 7th and 8th semesters, was held at MOBIGEN on Wednesday, 14 June 2023, at 11.00-17.00.  After the short speeches of Deputy Directors of the Istanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (İKÜMED) Ali Kaplanoğlu and Yıldırım Özkan, the students were presented with IKU badges. The poster presentation event held for the first time with the participation of IKU Vice-Chancellor Prof.  Dr.  Gülce Öğrüç Ildız, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Letters, Prof.  Dr.  Çimen Atak, Head of Department of MOBIGEN Dr.  Seyhan Altun, was concluded with a celebratory cake cutting with all the students.

IKU Design Factory held the second Demoday event on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Our entrepreneurs presented their valuable insights to our jury members for the second time. Istanbul Youth Activities Branch Manager of the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, Sami Kuşçu, was among the jury members.

Design Factory Project Coordinator Meltem Zengin thanked our entrepreneurs and made the end-of-term closing speech of the Design Factory.

We congratulate all our entrepreneurs who had the opportunity to present critical business insights for the future at the Design Factory, the center of creativity, and wish them continued success.

Dr. Houda Jorio from International Higher Education Morocco University (Morocco), which is among the partner universities of IKU, visited IKU İncirli campus to further the pre-established cooperation  and develop new projects.

The 7th edition (SUMMER 2023) of the "KÜLTÜRK" Magazine of Turkish Language and Literature Research Magazine, has been published within the scope of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Science and Letters of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU), on 20 June 2023.

IKU Dean of the Faculty of Education and one of our faculty members of the Department of Educational Sciences, Prof. Dr. Alim Kaya, gave a panel talk titled "Reassessing Psychological Counseling Education" within the scope of the "V. PDR Summit" with the theme of "Contemporary Approaches in Psychological Counseling Practices & From Tradition to the Future" held at Istanbul Aydın University on 3-4 June 2023.

The second issue of the " PsikoKültür " magazine, created by IKU Psychology Club students, has been published.
