An event titled "Communication Academy with Cem Öğretir" was held in Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Sunday, December 18, in cooperation with Kültür Point and Active Campus. In the event, in which a certain number of places were reserved for IKU students, approximately 500 people were present with the participants from students from other universities.  In the event that lasted for 5 hours, by the speaker Cem Öğretir, trainings were held on the topics of Effective Body Language, Effective Communication and Diction.

As part of the Istanbul Kültür University the Department of Architecture activities, the "Most Successful Project Awards" were granted to the recipients on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

In every fall and spring semester the best projects of the "Architectural Design" courses in the previous semester are determined by vote among the faculty members. With the selection, the project with the highest votes is determined.

The Awards are granted to the most successful projects in the “Graduation Projects” courses (Turkish and English) on the categories of the fall semesters "Architectural Design 1", "Architectural Design 3", "Architectural Design 5" and "Architectural Design 7" and for the spring semesters "Architectural Design 2", "Architectural Design 4", "Architectural Design 6" and "Architectural Design 7"

Kültür Point organized a concert on Thursday, December 22, 2022 to present the "Kültür Anadolu Trio" music group to our students. The group made up of our students, who took the stage with the concept of "Turkish Folk Songs from Anatolia" in the concert taking place in Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center, started their performance by combining Anatolian melodies and poetry with the help of the Turkish Literature Club. The concert, in which folk songs such as Mihriban, Sarı Gelin and Minnet Eylemem were performed, was concluded with the singing of lively folk music pieces .

Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, acted as a member of the main jury to determine “Best Fiction”, “Best Documentary” and “Best Animated” films in the "International" category of the 10th International Silk Road Film Festival, organized by the Cinema and Television Authors' Association (SETEM) with the support of the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, between 10-13 December 2022.

Istanbul Kültür University Business Development, Industrial and Sectoral Relations Unit (İGESİB) Head Lecturer  Selen Çeliköz, had a productive meeting with Adem Ceylan, Head of the Vocational Qualifications Authority of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.  As a part of the meeting in Ankara, the endeavours carried out by the Vocational Qualifications Authority, the planned Scope Enlargement endeavours, the Support and Incentives for National Qualifications were discussed.

During her visit to Ankara, Lecturer Çeliköz also met with Mehmet Ordukaya, Head of the Vocational Qualifications Authority Examination and Certification Department, Levent Kenan Kibar, Deputy General Director of Occupational Health and Safety of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and Seher Batur, Head of Certification Accreditation of the Turkish Accreditation Agency.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) Program of E-Commerce and Marketing  held a panel talk titled “Being Visible in the Digital Age” on Friday, December 16, 2022.  The event in which IGDAS Digital Marketing Specialist Rıza Bora Kartal  attended the event as a speaker, and information on the subjects of sub-branches of digital marketing, real time marketing, influencer marketing etc were conveyed, was concluded after the questions the students posed were answered.

The Department of Business Administration held a seminar titled "Six Sigma Applications in Corporate Enterprises, Customer Value and Return on Investment" at the Basın Ekspres Campus Conference Hall on Wednesday, December 21. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt ING Bank Technology and Product Manager Mutlu Emir Bilişik, who attended the event as a speaker, informed the students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences about lean six sigma practices and transformation studies in corporate businesses. Bilişik, who made evaluations on real sector case studies in his presentation, also talked about the utilized methods. At the end of the event, Head of Business Administration Assoc. Prof. Murat Taha Bilişik presented a gift to our guest.

The Department of International Trade and Finance organized an online event titled "Life, Work and Education Opportunities in Canada" on Tuesday, December 20 on the ZOOM Platform. Canadian College Education Consultant Özlem Nas, who attended the event as the speaker, informed our students about life, education and job opportunities abroad. Nas, who made her presentation at the conference, also answered the questions of our students.

As part of the incorporation and entrepreneurship activities of the IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO), a contract was signed on Thursday, December 8, to establish Algesoft Software Technologies Research Development and Marketing Trade Inc. ,a business partnership between graduates Ozan Yurtsever and Soner Abay.  We congratulate the Algesoft team and wish them success in their work.

Algesoft, is a digital transformation agency that designs and develops websites, apps and personalized digital solutions. Purposes; is to develops innovative solutions to support the growth of businesses.

The “Science-We” event was held by the Molecular Biology and Genetics Club with the participation of approximately 200 students in four sessions.

 - In the first session, Dr. Süleyman Coşkun From Yale University School of Medicine “Cancer Stem Cells and Brain Tumors”,
 - In the second session, Dr. Fatma Pir Çakmak from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology  “Understanding the Transition from the Non-Living to the Living: Compartment Models”,
 - In the third session, Prof. Dr.  Mazhar from Northwestern University.  “Forensic CRISPR and the Future of Modifying Human Genetics” ,
 - In the fourth session, Prof. Dr. Savaş Tay from The University of Chicago  “Signal Dynamics and Single Cell Analysis”

 The presentations on the aforementioned subjects were given to the students.  The event was concluded after the question-answer session.

Vice President of Business Administration Assist. Prof. Tuğçe Kumral Yürek held lectures on "Entrepreneurship" and "Entrepreneurship in Türkiye" at Serbia Belgrade Visoka Skola Za Poslovnu Ekonomiju I Preduzetnistvo University within the scope of Erasmus Teaching Activity.

Istanbul Kültür University hosted the second semester module of the Changing Steps Association (DADER) Colorful Steps High School Program on Saturday, December 17, in cooperation with the Awareness Club and the Vocational School. High school students attended the workshop, which was held by Screenwriter & Actor Etem Caner Karaüç with the topic title “Sustainable Play".

DADER, which carries out empowering activities to provide equal opportunities for all able-bodied and disabled women, men, children, young people belonging to different social groups, was supported by the İKU Awareness Club at the event.

Specialist Nurse Nurgül Turgut and Specialist Nurse Ayşe Güldür from University of Health Sciences Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital Pregnancy Education School were the guests at the "HEM7007 Career Development" course given in the Department of Nursing. At the event held online, our students were informed about nursing and educational activities at the Pregnancy School, the functioning of the pregnancy school, as well as the duties, powers and responsibilities of educational nursing.

İKUVENT Club held a panel talk titled "The Development of Marketing from Past to Present" at the Design Factory office in Ataköy Campus on Wednesday, December 21. Ahmet Balat, Zeynel Çift and Selim Şentürk, who participated in the event as speakers, conveyed the importance of marketing and digital marketing in the developing world order to the students.

As part of the incorporation and entrepreneurship activities of IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO), a contract was signed on Thursday, December 8, to establish F&Q Charging, a sole proprietorship of one of our students, Zafer Çiyit.  We congratulate our student and wish him good luck.

F&Q Charging, with its portable charging kit for electric car users, offers the chance to charge  electric vehicles at any point without worrying about finding a charging station.

In cooperation with the Effective Communication Club and the New Media and Communication Club, an event titled "Make an Observation and Express It with Your Lines" was held on Wednesday, December 21 at the Apple branch on Bağdat Street.

The New Media and Communication Club held a talk titled “Social Media Expertise and Agency Life” on Monday, December 19th. Elif Saatcı, one of our Magnet20 Digital Advertising Agency Social Media Specialist & New Media and Communication graduates, who attended the event as the speaker, talked about their department and internship experiences and full-time working life.  Talking about the difficulties that students studying in this field may encounter in agency life and the possible mistakes they can make while working with brands, Saatcı also talked about how making mistakes nurtures experience and the importance of doing internships.

IKU Vision Club organized a conference titled "Entrepreneurship and E-Commerce" on Tuesday, December 20, at 13.00, at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in order for students to get ideas in the field of entrepreneurship and e-commerce.

A trip to Bursa Uludağ was organized by the IKU Excursion Club with the participation of our 50 students between December 16-18.

Hasan Can Benli, a 3rd year student of the Department of International Trade and Finance & Head of 2021-2022 IKU Career Club, got a job as a Product Developer Intern at Puma through the job portal "ikum.network". We congratulate our student and wish him continued success.

Paintball event will be organized in Çatalca, on Saturday, December 24, between 09.00-20.00 in cooperation with Erasmus Club and International Student Club in order to bring members together.

Healthy Nutrition Club will organize an event titled “Meetings on Nutrition and Dietetics at Kültür 1 (Clinic)" in order to support students' career planning processes. Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall will host the event, which will be held with the participation of experts in the field, on Monday, December 26, between 09.00-17.00.

Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center will host the "Architects and Interior Designers are on the Stage" event, traditionally organized by the Faculty of Architecture, on Monday, December 26, at 15.00. IKU Orchestra will also take the stage at the ceremony, where certificates will be presented to our students who have a high honor degree, have received awards in competitions and participated in social responsibility projects.

The Department of Psychology will organize a conference titled "In the Session Room: Therapeutic Relationship and the Importance of Therapeutic Relationship when Studying Trauma" in order to inform the participants about the therapeutic relationship. The event, where Expert Clinical Psychologists Tülay Ay Öztürk and Ezgi Meydancı Şahin will be the speakers, will be held on Monday, December 26, between 15.00-17.00, at Erdal Inönü Seminar Hall in our Ataköy campus.

The Program of Public Relations and Promotion will organize an interview titled "Creating a Personal Brand in the Digital World" in order to support students' career planning processes. The event, where the Founder of Street 1227, Trainer & Writer Oğuzhan Saruhan will be the speaker, will be held on Tuesday, December 27, at 13.00, at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall.

Interior Architecture and Design Club will organize an event at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on Tuesday, December 27, between 17.00-20.00 in order to watch and discuss films about the discipline of architecture-interior architecture.

The Economics Club will organize an interview titled "Financial Technologies and Financial Literacy" in order to inform students about the developments in the world of digitalization and technology. The event, where İskender Ada, Infina Software Sales, Marketing and Business Development Assistant General Manager & Financial Literacy and Inclusion Association (FODER) Board Member, will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, December 28, at 14.00 at Basın Ekspres Campus Conference Hall.

The “2022-2023 Academic Board Meeting” will be held by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, on Wednesday, December 28, between 14.00-15.30, at Basın Ekspres Campus Z-16 Conference Hall.

In cooperation with the Department of Foreign Languages ​​and the Professional Development Unit, a training titled "Fundamentals of Language Assessment" will be organized for the lecturers. The training, which will be given by EFL Instructors Merve Selçuk and Filiz Öğüt Şermet, will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at 14.00 at Şirinevler Campus C Block B1 Seminar Hall.

IKU Faculty of Science and Letters continues to organize "Not Just for the Sake of Coffee Meetings" in order to share studies that are important in terms of research and analysis in the field of Hard and Social Sciences. The seminar titled “What Is Mobbing, What Is Not?” in which Assist. Prof. Elif Özge Erbay from the Department of Psychology will be the speaker will be held on Wednesday, December 28, between 15.00-17.00 at Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall.

Kültür Point will stage a concert to introduce the "IKU Turkish Classical Music Choir" to our students. Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center will host the concert, which will be conducted by Presidential Turkish Music Voice Artist Conductor Recep Alper Çevirel, on Wednesday, 28 December at 19.30.

The works of Preschool Education students during the term within the scope of Prepubescent Art and Creativity classes will be exhibited on Thursday, December 29, between 11:00 and 16:00, on the ground floor of the Basın Ekspres Campus.

A "New Year's Party at IKU" will be held by Kültür Point on Thursday, December 29, 2022, between 12.00 and 21.00 in the Ataköy campus front garden. In the event where a DJ performance, rap concert and dance show will be held, the Orchestra IKU will take stage to offer an unforgettable evening to the people of Kültür.

The Department of International Relations will hold a panel talk titled "Patriotism and Civil Society" on Thursday, December 29, between 12.30-15.30 in the 4th floor multi-purpose hall of our Ataköy Campus. At the event, the outcomes of the project carried out by Assoc. Prof. Çağla Gül Yesevi, one of the faculty members of the department, and Assoc. Prof. Özge Zihnioğlu from Liverpool University is funded by the British Academy will be shared.

A panel talk titled "The Journey of Entrepreneurship" will be held in cooperation with the New Media and Communication Club, the Department of New Media and Communication and the Effective Communication Club. The event, where DİİCİ CEO Ecem Çuhacı Küçük will be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, December 29, between 13.00-15.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall of our Ataköy Campus.
