Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, and our Vice Rector & Sustainable Development Center (IKU SÜRKAM) Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil, have signed a protocol with Reges Elektrik for the “Women's Energy, Türkiye’s Energy” Project, which we will implement to increase women's employment in the energy sector.

The “Women's Energy, Türkiye’s Energy” project seeks to contribute to the goals of Gender Equality, Accessible and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Reduced Inequalities.

An event titled "Science-Us" was organised by the Molecular Biology and Genetics Club in order to enable expert academics who continue their studies abroad to share their experiences, multidisciplinary competencies, and research topics with future molecular biologists. The event was held online on Monday, January 13, 2025, and featured Assist. Prof. Onur Dağlıyan, Dr. Zerrin Yetkin, and Engin Narinç as the speakers.

Lecturer Evren Yılmaz, the Head of the Program of Flight Operations Management at Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO), and Lecturer Murat Nizam, the Manager of Program Training, visited Bonair Aviation. During the visit, which took place on Thursday, January 16, topics such as the current state of general aviation, internship opportunities, and educational collaboration possibilities were discussed.

Assist. Prof. İbrahim Ethem Tarhan’s article titled “Strategic Planning Model for a Construction Company in the event of an Earthquake,” co-authored with our graduate student Abeer Mubarak Mohammed, was published in the Journal of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering.

The final projects from the 1st year “Basic Design” course of the Faculty of Architecture are now on display in the 2nd floor corridor of the Ataköy building at the Bakırköy Campus. The exhibition, which is organized by Assist. Prof. M. Emre Arslan and Res. Assist. İdil Akkuzu, consists of student projects describing 8 emotional states (anger, happiness, excitement, uncertainty, loneliness, anxiety, calmness, sadness).

A talk titled "Environment for Everyone and the Importance of Accessibility in Disasters/Earthquakes with Adem Kuyumcu" was organised by the Architecture Club in order to convey the importance of accessibility in design to the students of the Department of Architecture. Accessibility Specialist Adem Kuyumcu from the Barrier-Free Environment Association participated as the speaker at the event, which was held in MTS 1 in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus on Thursday, December 16, 2024.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School Head of the Program of Flight Operations Management Lecturer Evren Yılmaz, and Program Education Director Lecturer Murat Nizam visited Rahmi Rahmioğlu, Dispatch Manager at Gözen Air, on Thursday, January 16th. The meeting, where internship opportunities and potential collaborations for our students were discussed, was an important step in providing our students with sectorial experience and strengthening our educational process.

The Department of Foreign Languages will host an event titled “Leadership in the AI Era: Practical & Transformative Tools for School Managers” to showcase practical applications of integrating artificial intelligence into education. The event, which will be attended by directors of the School of Foreign Languages and the Department of Foreign Languages from universities in and around Istanbul, will take place on January 31–February 1 (09:00–15:00) in the multipurpose hall on the 4th floor of the Bakırköy Campus, Ataköy building.
