İstanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Head of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver published a message about the IKU agenda, which has changed with the new Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). My Dear Kültür Family, We are in the 5th month of the new process we have built with the pandemic. While each of us welcomed this year, there were many plans especially for summer. However, the 2020, half of which we have left behind, has already gone down in history as a year where everything has changed radically. Despite all the difficulties, we continue our journey by trying to foresee the present and the future in the light of different scenarios. The message containing our work plan for the period of 20 July-16 August was shared with us by KOVKOM. The list of staff to work on campus during that date range was the main theme of the sharing. In addition, in the KOVKOM message, we received the news of a new project for the future of the Kültür family: our portal backto.iku.edu.tr. In May, all universities in Turkey, in line with the demands and criterias of YÖK have published their studies on their websites. We also shared our studies and processes regarding the pandemic period from our covid19.iku.edu.tr address. Our portal which is addressed backto.iku.edu.tr is a different structure than covid19.iku.edu.tr with its mission and meaning. This address is a symbol of the future in Kültür; it is a processes we have built together with the new normal. In addition to its mission of backto.iku.edu.tr, it has a very special message with its sense of meaning. We had a hard time. When it is not possible to plan tomorrow… Today we are talking about the future, returning to school, starting over. backto.iku.edu.tr is the reference of the future at this point. I sincerely congratulate all my friends who contributed. My Dear Kültür Family, We recently have met with our Honorary President Master of Engineer Fahamettin Akıngüç. He conveyed his love and greetings to the entire Kültür family. Another agenda in our speech was corona and crisis management. He pointed out that the intensity level of everything is different in the times of crisis and the importance of producing “point solutions” is specific to such periods. What our Honorary President calls point solutions; event and situation-specific, customized solutions can only be created with a common mind and sense. To achieve this, we need all of your opinions and ideas. Our network is gradually expanding in the back to school activities that we started with 14 people a month ago. It is a planning job to increase the quantity in a controlled and gradual way. However, the main factor in the success of the return process is that we can all work happily with confidence. We cannot feel good only by meeting physical health or hygiene conditions. I would like to state once again that you can share your opinions, ideas and suggestions about the back to work orientation program that I shared with you two weeks ago with our Human Resources Department. Your contributions are very valuable so that the back to work orientation can be developed as a point solution to meet our needs. My Dear Kültür Family, With the pandemic, not only the usual flow of life, but also our way of thinking is changing. We redefine our life practices and experience a cultural change. While we are revisiting life, on the one hand, we make a great effort to try to adapt. Change, transformation will take place on key points in life, sometimes with slow, fast, very sharp, sometimes very soft and calm transitions, but somehow it will. The important thing is to be able to stay mentally and spiritually strong as well as physically… Hoping to be together on healthy days… Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver İKÜ Head of The Board of Trustees |
