A panel talk titled “Songs for a Lifetime, Lives That Turn into Songs”, exploring the intersections of music and literature, to which the IKU Dean of the Faculty of Science and Letters and a faculty member of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature Prof. Dr.  Ömür Ceylan attended as a speaker, was held on Tuesday, November 22, 2023, at the Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Vocational School. The event alongside IKU Rector Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe and IKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gülce Öğrüç Ildız, was attended by various IKU faculty members. Prof. Dr. Ceylan offered in-depth analysis of the influence of music and literature on life. The event, which emphasized the profound influence of music and literature on the human soul, left the audience not only informed but also inspired.

Within the scope of our University and Faculty of Law's efforts to improve academic quality by establishing international collaborations with our student-faculty members and contributing to their career planning, the Academic Student Trip to Germany was held between 14-27 July 2023. Dr. Akif Hilal Öztürk, who was appointed as the university official of DAAD within the scope of the continuation of the studies between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which has been in academic cooperation with our University for many years, and our University, Assist. Prof. Efser Erden Tütüncü, one of the faculty members of the Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure of our Faculty of Law, and Commercial Law. Organized by Assist. Prof. Muharrem Tütüncü, one of the faculty members of the Department; Representation of the European Parliament in Berlin, German Bundestag, German Ministry of Justice, Manzel Law Firm, Berlin State Court, Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, T.R. The Embassy, the Federal Administrative Court, the Federal Supreme Court of Appeals, the Bremen State Court, the Bremen Closed Prison (opportunity to talk to the prisoner), the University of Hamburg and the University of Bremen were visited. In addition, law seminars were held at the Free University of Berlin, Osnabrück University and Leipzig University, and presentations were made by our faculty members and students. A Certificate Presentation Ceremony was held at the German Consulate General for our students and academic staff who participated in this important trip that contributes to academic and professional development, by the Consulate General of Germany and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) on November 15, 2023. Certificates were presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. h.c. mult and Kültür Attaché Rüdiger Kappes.

The documentary film project titled "Trip to Cilicia", written and directed by Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, was organized by the Republic of Türkiye. It passed the pre-selection in the "Project Support Category" of the 14th International TRT Documentary Awards, organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, and made it to the finals. TRT Documentary Awards will find their owners at the awards ceremony to be held on December 17, 2023. We congratulate our professor and wish her continued success.

Istanbul Kültür University Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, "1 Decembrie 1918", in collaboration with Alba Iulia University (Romania) and Preschool Teacher Training and Medical College in Vrsac (Serbia), within the scope of ERASMUS BIP (Blended Intensive Programmes) between 23-27 October 2023 An international event called "Mathematical Performance Using Teaching-Assistant Learning Tools" was organized for undergraduate students. Mathematics and learning performance was given by Assoc. Prof. Thomas E. Hunt (Derby University - England) to 24 Erasmus students who visited our University within the scope of the event; Basic components of number sense and how early number sense can be developed by Prof. Dr. Sinan Olkun (Ankara University - Türkiye); Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mert Çağlar (Istanbul Kültür University, Türkiye), gave theoretical and practical lessons on the Turkish education system, especially the development of mathematics education and the application of auxiliary teaching tools. Additionally, Kültür College was visited; Students were informed about the methods followed for mathematics education, mathematics course contents and applications.

A seminar titled "Alternative Methods in the Treatment of Bacterial Infections" was held by the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics on Friday, November 17, 2023. Dr. Nazlı Ataç from Koç University İş Bankası Infectious Diseases Center, attended the event as a speaker offering in-depth information about new generation of study strategies in infectious diseases.

As a part of the 2023-2024 Fall Semester activities of the Department of Architecture, Master Architect Hale Akdemir Şener, one of the graduates of the İKU Department of Architecture, gave their presentation titled "Today is a Great Day to Design Something New" on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Coming together with the students at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall, the graduate talked about their leap into the professional life, starting from the years they studied at İKÜ Department of Architecture, and the design projects they was involved in.

With the leadership and coordination of Istanbul Kültür University Student Life, Career and Alumni Advisory Unit (Kültür Point) and with the support of the voluntary work of Theater Club students, technical support of Design Factory and the help of İKÜMED; the podcast called "To us; 100th Anniversary of Republic", was finally completed after a two month process. Within the scope of the project, 6+1 episodes were published.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program held an event titled "The Place and Future of Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program Graduates in the Private Sector" on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Kadir Arıcı, General Manager of Private Florya Hospital, attended the event moderated by Medical Documentation and Secretariat Program Head lecturer Emin Aksan as a speaker. Kadir Arıcı, a graduate of the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program, talked about all the processes of the profession in the private sector.

The “Alumni Panel” event was held with the joint efforts of Industrial Engineering Club and Kültür Point, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.  The event moderated by Res. Assist. Oğuz Emir from the Department of Industrial Engineering, was attended by IKU graduates Can Akbaş, Ebru Gün and Tuğçe İnan as speakers. The IKU graduates shared their business experiences, reminisced about their university experience , offered insights for their future and answered students' questions.

The talk titled "Arbitration in International Maritime Law" was held by the International Law Club on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Lawyer Cem Congar, who attended the event as a speaker, gave detailed information on the topics "Arbitration in Maritime Law" and "Career in International Law". The interactive event ended after the question-answer session.

An "Alumni Panel" event was held on Tuesday, November 7, with the joint efforts of the Department of New Media and Communication, New Media and Communication Club and Kültür Point. The graduate of the Department of Communication Arts (2022), Department of New Media and Communication (2023) Lecturer Mert Efe Anğın attended the panel as a speaker.  Lecturer Anığın presented their presentation titled "Career Management in New Media" and offered some insight to the students.  Anğın, who also introduced university activities such as "Digital Communication Academy", finished off the event with the question and answer session.

TEDx Panel Talks, totalling more than 4 billion views worldwide with the famous slogan "Ideas Worth Sharing", will be paying a visit to Istanbul Kültür University this year with the theme "Create Yourself".  The event, to be attended by experts in their fields as the speakers, will be held on Saturday, November 25, between 10.00-17.00 at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.  All the money generated from the event will be donated to İKÜ Students With Disabilities Unit.

A training event titled "Work Preparation Trainings" will be organized by Kültür Point to help aid students' career planning processes.  The training titled “Ethics and Management in the Workplace” will be given on the CATS platform on Monday, November 27.

Within the scope of the Department of Communication and Design Art Workshops activity series, "Text Applications with Asemitic Writing and Experimental Materials" training will be organized for students. The training to be given by Assist. Prof. Dicle Yıldırım from Üsküdar University Department of Visual Communication Design will be held on Monday, November 27, between 10.00-17.00 in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building at the classroom numbered 1B 07-09.

Kültür Point will organise the "Turkish Sign Language Training" in order to raise awareness about deaf and hearing impaired people in the society and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. The training to be given by the trainer Eser Dalyan will be held on 27-28 November 2023 between 15.00-18.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

"Turkish Classical Music Choir Selections" will be held by Kültür Point on Monday, November 27, between 16.00-18.00 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of Bakırköy campus.

In cooperation with the Kültür Point and the Department of Foreign Language, "Business English Training" will be organised for our students and graduates through CATS on Wednesday, November 29.

"Erasmus+ and Exchange Program Information Seminar" will be held by the Department of Foreign Languages Education on Wednesday, November 29 at 10:00 at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building in order to inform the teacher candidates at the Faculty of Education about Erasmus+ programs.

A seminar titled "War Economy: World Trade and Sanctions" will be organised by the Department of Economics, where the effects of wars on the economies of the country will be discussed in the context of the Russia-Ukraine war. The event to be moderated by our Head of Economics Department Assoc. Dr. Deniz Dereli, where Rıdvan Haliloğlu, Deputy Chairperson of Istanbul Customs Brokers Association, will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, November 29 at 11:00 in the Küçükçekmece campus conference hall.

The IEEE IKU Club will organise an interview titled "Women's Leadership" to talk about the importance of the presence of female leaders in the sector. The event, in which Duracell Marketing Manager Canan Berkem Uzun will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, November 29 at 13.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

The Department of Educational Sciences will organize a panel titled "Sources of Psychological Well-Being" to inform the students of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Undergraduate Program. The event, in which Prof. Dr. Tayfun Doğan from Üsküdar University will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, November 29 at 13.30 at the Küçükçekmece Campus Conference Hall.

"Diction and Effective Body Language Training" will be organized by Kültür Point in order for the participants to speak Turkish effectively and use body language correctly. The training, which will be given by Özlem Berkit, will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, between 15.00-18.00 at the 2nd floor multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of Bakırköy campus.

IKU Faculty of Science and Letters continues to organize "Coffee is an Excuse” meetings in order to share significant studies in terms of research and analysis in the field of Basic Science and Social Sciences. The seminar titled "Zerzevan and its Myths", in which Prof. Dr. Dursun Koçer from the Department of Physics will be the speaker, will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 15.00 at Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall.

Kültür Point will organize "Turkish Sign Language Training" to raise awareness about deaf and hearing-impaired people in society, and to contribute to the personal and professional development of our students. IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) will organize a training titled "From Idea to Market Training". The training, which will be given by Synergia Dr. Ali Kurt, will be held online on Wednesday, November 29 at 15.30.

In cooperation with the Psychology Club and the Department of Psychology, a conference titled "Things to Know in Clinical Psychology" will be organized to inform students about the issues that need to be known in clinical psychology. The event, in which Prof. Dr. İ. Ömer Saatcıoğlu from our Department of Psychology will be the speaker, will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 13.00 at the 3rd floor reading room in the Ataköy building of Bakırköy campus.

Vocational School of Higher Education will organize an interview titled "Digital Content Production with Demet Işıl" in order to inform students about digital content production. The event, in which Influencer, Author & Youtuber Demet Işıl will be a speaker, will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 16.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.
