A brief was organized in the scope of the cooperation agreement signed between Istanbul Kültür University Europe Career and Workforce Unit and Lower Saxony State “Deutsche Management Akademie- Lower Saxony German Management Academy” (DMAN) for the students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

The opening speech of the brief, which was started on February 24, Thursday at Basın Ekspres Campus Conference Hall at 14.00, was made by our Rector Prof. Dr Hanife Öztürk Akkartal. The questions of our students were answered after Lecturer Nilüfer Köker, Europe Career and Work Force Unit Coordinator informed the students. After the brief in which Prof. Dr Müge Çetiner, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Vice Dean also attended, both our Rector and our Dean answered the student’s questions about the program, by meeting them in person.

“Protocol of Cooperation” has been signed on February 2022 between the Rector of Istanbul Kültür University Prof. Dr. Hanife Öztürk Akkartal and the Rector of Cadi Ayyad University Prof. Dr. My Lhassan Hbid.

Within the scope of the Protocol, it is decided to cooperate especially in organizing conferences, seminars, common courses, symposiums and workshops, working on and publishing common scientific researches and publications, student exchanges, and joint supervision of postgraduate theses.

“Protocol of Cooperation” has been signed on February 2022 between the Rector of Istanbul Kültür University Prof. Dr. Hanife Öztürk Akkartal and the Rector of Algiers 2 Universtiy Prof. Dr. Said Boumaiza.

Within the scope of the Protocol, it is decided to cooperate especially in organizing conferences, seminars, common courses, symposiums and workshops, working on and publishing common scientific researches and publications, student exchanges, and joint supervision of postgraduate theses.

Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) hosted art lovers with the fifth event, a new theatre play, of the season. The play “Piraye” of Master Poet Nazım Hikmet in which he projected his inner world, surrounded by the poem and letters written for the love he has for his spouse, staged on February 24, Thursday at 19.00, at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center. The play which was directed and played by Murat Çidamlı highly applauded by art lovers. GSUAM will continue to its events with Ayça Bingol’s unique performance in “Ben Anadolu” included in the program within the scope of “International Women’s Day.”

IKU Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) brought together the international group exhibition titled “Geçit / Gate” with art lovers. The exhibition, which was organized in cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University and Pinelo Art Gallery and opened on Wednesday, February 23 at 15.00 at the IKÜSAG Exhibition Hall, features the works of approximately 30 artists from Bulgaria, Greenland, Japan, Canada, Ukraine and Greece. Curated by Cem Aggelos Ustuner, the exhibition can be visited at IKU Art Gallery until March 23.

A webinar was organized with the collaboration of IKU Family Businesses Application and Research Center (AGMER) and Management Consulting Institute. The webinar which was realized via the ZOOM platform and also broadcasted live via YouTube on February 24, Thursday was moderated by Assist. Prof. Seray Begüm Samur Teraman, one of the academics from the Department of Entrepreneurship. The panel in which Salih Keskin, Innovation Coach and Dr. Ali Kurt, Synergia Co-Founder took place, started with Assist. Prof. Nazan Çağlar’s, Head of AGMER, speech. At the end of the panel, in which also the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Müge Çetiner attended, Zeynep Tura, Head of MCI Board of Management and Assist. Prof. Nazan Çağlar, Head of AGMER, stated that the serial will continue with the current subjects.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School organized the “School 2021-2022 Academic Year Spring Semester External Shareholder Meeting” as hybrid on February 18, Friday at İncirli Campus.

In the meeting which was organized in order to enhance the university-sector cooperation, Lecturer Tuğba Çedikçi talked about general information of our university to external shareholders. Lecturer Gözde Kuzu Uluçay introduced the CATS course management system and the Content Management, Collaboration and Assessment and Evaluation tools within this system.

IKU Vocational School Director Assist. Prof. Sinan Kesici, on the other hand, underlined the need to develop projects based on university-private sector cooperation in order to support the applied education and internship of our students by taking the opinions and suggestions of external stakeholders and conveyed the studies on “Vocational Education in the Workplace”, “Vocational School Digital Vocational Education Method Curriculum Studies” and “2022 Spring Term Vocational School Education-Training Practice Principles”

Architect Gökhan Avcıoğlu, who is known for his national and international award-winning projects, was the guest of the "Architecture Talks" series traditionally organized by the Department of Architecture of Istanbul Kültür University. In the events which was realized on Thursday February 24, 2022 Avcıoğlu, who told about his domestic and international projects at the conference held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall, also conveyed his work on GAD Academy to the students.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) Program of Fashion Design Head Nilgun Demirhan and our academicians Serpil Aymaz and Remzi Durmus met with Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Association (ITKIB) R&D Manager Halil İbrahim Emir on Friday, February 11, 2022. . In the meeting, which was held on joint project studies and sustainability and was very productive, the importance of university-industry & sector collaborations was emphasized and ideas were exchanged about what should be done for the future.

A technical trip to Balat was held on Monday, February 21, 2022, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ayhan Usta and Asst. Prof. Orkun Özüer, within the scope of the "Urban Culture Research Laboratory" subject in the Architectural Design V-VI-VII Project course given in the Department of Architecture.

With the coordination of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Human Resources Office, in its 3rd year of Internship Mobilization Program which has been successfully conducted by the participation of all the public enterprises and voluntary employers from the private sector for two years, its name has been changed into “National Internship Program” in accordance to the employment politics parallel of our country.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) Program of Fashion Design attended the LINEXPO Istanbul Underwear & Hosiery Fair between 9-12 February 2022. IKU Vocational School Fashion Design Program took its place in the fair, which was organized as a giant sectoral meeting with fashion shows and visual shows, where the latest trends were exhibited, and held meetings with many companies on behalf of university industry & sector collaborations. The Program of Fashion Design, which signed new protocols with the Turkish Underwear Manufacturers' Association (TİGSAG) within the scope of the fair, provided its students with the opportunity to work-internship and freelance work.

Within the scope of the "Interior Design Studio III-IV" course given in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, a field trip to Zeyrek-Fatih region was carried out with the 2nd year English Program students, led by Asst. Prof. Bilge Özbilen, Lecturer Aysun Karabay and Lecturer İrem Çatay.

Fella Tekstil was visited on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, within the scope of the project work of the 2nd year students of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School (MYO) Program of Fashion Design. An "Abroad Education Information Webinar" will be organized by the Department of Business Administration in order to inform students about abroad education opportunities. "Career Honorary Award Ceremony" will be organized by IKU Career Club. The ceremony, which aims to help a different social responsibility project or non-governmental organization every year, will be dedicated to the Muscle Diseases Association (KASDER) this year. Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center will host the "Career Honorary Award Ceremony", the biggest income generating aid activity organized by a student club and the only award night in this model, on Friday, March 4, between 19:00 and 23:00.

Could you briefly describe yourself? Who is Tansu Turaç in 2-3 sentences?

I was born in September 11, 1997, in Istanbul. I am a graduate of İstanbul Kültür University Department of Mathematics-Computer. As of August 2021, I have been working as Assisant Specialist Job Analyst at Directorate of Corporate Information Management.

How did your participation in Kültür Family evolve?

After completing my undergraduate education, I took Pedagogical Formation Education. I have worked in different sectors such as teaching and e-commerce. Our paths crossed with IKU after the job interview, which I have carried out with my esteemed lecturer Assist. Prof. Levent Cuhacı.

What are the things that IKU adds to you?

IKU introduced many precious friendships and esteemed colleagues to me. I am working in a family environment that is dynamic, innovative and completes each other. This is one of the reasons why I do my job lovingly. I would like to thank my colleagues. I am glad to work with them.

Is there an unforgettable memory in the Kültür part of your life?

As a person who is a member of Kültür for 7 years, I have collected many beautiful memories both in my education and work life. The stressful times that we studied for the finals until late hours but even then, we could make each other laugh will stay as the most precious memories for me.

If you had to describe Istanbul Kültür University in one word, what would that word be?

Trust.
