In the process of global competition, the socio-economic development and growth of countries are measured not only by their physical resources, but also by their ability to produce technology-based, high value-added and qualified products/services, to use them effectively, and to export the technologies they produce. The diffusion of knowledge, technology or innovative ideas from developed countries to others or from establishments to establishments occurs through technology transfer. In the process of technology transfer, academic researches, inventions, patents, ideas or other technological advances are transferred to industrial applications in order to create commercial value. These studies are carried out today, particularly with interface structures such as Technology Transfer Offices. The project titled “Innovation and Sustainability-Oriented Technology Transfer: Increasing Innovation Capacity with Effective Development of Staff Capabilities” within the scope of “1601-TÜBİTAK Support Program for Increasing the Capacity in the Fields of Innovation and Entrepreneurship” applied by Istanbul Kültür University Technology Transfer Office (TTO), which is one of the Technology Transfer Offices has been granted to receive funds. Within the scope of the submitted project; - Providing support for the research of market opportunities for the products developed at Istanbul Kültür University and their effective commercialization, - Making necessary applications for the protection of the developed products with appropriate intellectual property methods such as patents, trademarks and copyrights before commercialization and making the products more equipped for commercialization, - Developing cooperation with stakeholders in the relevant sectors, transferring the products developed within IKU to industrial partners and equipping them to provide economic benefits, - Facilitating the conversion of research results into financial benefits through appropriate commercialization methods and business models, - Supporting economic growth by promoting the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship by providing the necessary training programs to provide participants such as academicians, industrialists and researchers with the necessary skills and knowledge for the commercialization of technologies developed within IKU for university-industry cooperation, - Identifying market opportunities for high-tech products, - Strengthening the socio-economic structure of the region through innovation and entrepreneurship are aimed. |
