Organized by the IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema , the “4th SineKültür Interuniversity Short Film Festival” was held in the Ataköy Campus between 22-24 May. In the festival, where 74 films from more than twenty universities from different provinces of Türkiye were admitted, a total of 12 short films were selected as finalists by the preliminary jury in the categories of 'Documentary' and 'Fiction'. The screening of the finalist films was held at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on the first day of the festival. The second day of the festival was dedicated to commemorate the esteemed director Oğuzhan Tercan, who passed away in 2022 and who had contributed to cinema education at our university for many years. The award ceremony was held on the third and last day of the festival. The festival was concluded with the festivities organized by the Cinema Club. The jury panel of the ‘Fiction’ category consisted of Director Gözde Kural, Producer Tayfur Aydın, Assist. Prof. İbrahim Zengin from IKU Department of Radio Television and Cinema , and the jury panel of the ‘Documentary’ category consisted of Director & Producer Aslı Akdağ, Assoc. Dr. Mesut Aytekin and Assoc. Dr. Remziye Köse Özelçi. The award ceremony of the festival was held on Wednesday, May 24 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall. After the opening speeches of the Dean of the IKU Faculty of Art and Design Prof. Dr. Mehmet Üstünipek and Head of IKU Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Assoc. Dr. Perihan Taş Öz , the “Best Documentary Short Film” and “Best Fiction Short Film” awards were presented to the winners. The winner in category of “Documentary” was “Başımdaki Dünya” directed by Yalçın Çiftçi, and in the 'Fiction' category, "Kuşlar Işer Mi?" directed by Arif Canpolat. After the award ceremony attended by the teams of the finalist films, jury panel and students, the festival was concluded with a closing cocktail party held in the backyard of Ataköy campus. |
