The 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony of the Graduate School at Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) was held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 15.00 in the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center located in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus. 

The international symposium titled "7th International Interdisciplinary Chaos Symposium on Chaos and Complex Systems," of which the Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Vocational School is among the stakeholders, was held in Athens, the capital of Greece, between June 19-21, 2026.

Held under the theme "Innovation and Complexity: From Physics to Medicine and Pharmaceutics," the symposium discussed the interaction among fields such as physics, engineering, biology, medicine, pharmaceutics, computer science, and artificial intelligence, and emphasized the critical role of interdisciplinary collaborations in scientific advancement.

Bringing together researchers and scientists from around the world working on a wide range of topics, from nonlinear dynamics to complex systems, from network theory to artificial intelligence and machine learning, from economic and social complexity to biological systems, the symposium served as an event that strengthened scientific exchange, expanded international academic networks, and opened the door to new research opportunities across different disciplines.

The preview screening of the documentary “Queen of the Outer Lane: Ribella,” produced by our Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema students, took place on Friday, June 19, in the VIP Lounge at Veliefendi Racetrack.

The documentary, which tells the story of Ribella—one of Turkish horse racing’s champion thoroughbreds—was directed by our student Orçun Poyraz. The production team also included our students Arda Çatak, Ceren Uslu, Ege Canım, and Mustafa Shaggy. The Turkish Jockey Club provided production support for the project.

The evening event at the Veliefendi Racetrack was attended by TJK Board Members Selman Taşbek and Kerem Alkan; members of the equestrian community; the thoroughbred’s jockeys, Halis Karataş and Selim Kaya; our Department Chair of Radio, Television, and Cinema, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Perihan Taş Öz; Project Advisor Research Assistant Okan Şeker, and numerous guests.

The project titled "Investigation of the Effects of Exosomal GDF15-Mediated Macrophage Polarization and Immunomodulation on Tumor Progression in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer," prepared under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Burcu Ayhan Şahin, from our Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBİGEN), and led by PhD student Eda Okuroğlu, has been awarded funding within the framework of the A3-02 A3 Support Program for PhD Students, conducted under the TÜSEB Group A Emergency R&D Project Support Program. We congratulate our advisor and student and wish them continued success in their studies.

Our Department of Industrial Engineering senior students successfully presented their graduation projects, which they prepared under the guidance of their project advisors during the Spring Semester of 2025-2026, on June 10, 2026.

Our students developed studies on real-life problems within the scope of industry collaborations, transforming their engineering knowledge and skills into applicable solutions.
We congratulate all our students on their successful presentations and graduation, and wish them continued success.

Organized by the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) to provide undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students with an opportunity to present their academic work in an international setting, the “8th International Congress of Turkish Language and Literature Students (TUDOK VIII)” will be held online on July 1–2, 2026.
