Youth With PKU Are In Kitchen

In cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University Nutrition and Dietetics Department and the Phenylketonuria (PKU) Family Association, an event titled "Youth With PKU Are In Kitchen" was organized on Saturday January 18th. IKU Sirinevler Campus hosted the event, which was held to share healthy nutrition principles with youth with PKU disorder, a congenital metabolic disease.

As part of the protocol signed as of the 2019-2020 academic year, our IKU Vocational School Opticianry Program student Dilem Yıldız started her internship at Atasun Optik, one of the leading institutions in the optician industry.

Sectoral Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Public Relations and Publicity Program and Kliksoft Software

A sectoral cooperation agreement was signed between IKU Vocational School Public Relations and Publicity Program and Kliksoft Software, which operates in strategy and brand positioning, e-learning, web conferencing, image processing, web technologies, tablet technologies, post production, integrated applications and social media. Within the scope of the signed protocol, our students will be offered internships, seminars and job opportunities in the fields of strategy for brands, software, design, creative and social media.

Applied Housekeeping Management Course at Fairmont Quasar Hotel

On 18 December 2019, IKU Vocational School Tourism and Hotel Management Program students performed the “Housekeeping Management” course in Fairmont Quasar Hotel with the help of Housekeeping Manager Hande Tütüncüçakır.

Tourism and Hotel Management Program Signed A New Sectoral Cooperation Agreement

A sectoral cooperation agreement was signed between IKU Vocational School Tourism and Hotel Management Program and Fairmont Quasar Istanbul on 18 December 2019. Within the scope of the signed protocol, applied courses, seminars, internships and full-time job opportunities will be offered to our Tourism and Hotel Management Program students.

Tourism and Hotel Management Program Students Visited Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus

On 13 December 2019, IKU Vocational School Tourism and Hotel Management Program students received training on operation process and guest satisfaction with Head Concierge Yiğit Emen in Hilton Bosphorus Istanbul.

Cem İşçiler “I Am Not Funny” Stand-Up Show

The Fine Arts Application and Research Center (GSUAM) welcomes Cem İşçiler, one of the most recent phenomenon names in the stand-up world, with its unique jokes, sincere attitude and funny stories. Cem İşçiler, who will be on stage at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Thursday, February 6 at 19.00, will cause a laughter storm with his show titled “I Am Not Funny”.

“Turkish Sign Language Education”

İstanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Student, Life, Career and Alumni Counseling Unit (Kültür Point) will organize “Turkish Sign Language Education” so that our students learn Turkish Sign Language and gain awareness about the hearing impaired. The training will be given by Sign Language Trainer and Translator Gökben Keleş; It will be held in Ataköy (Erdal İnönü Seminar Hall) between 3-4 February and between 15.00-18.00 on 5-6 February in İncirli campus.

“ETİ Children's Theater”

İstanbul Kültür University Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center continues to bring together beautiful events with culture and art lovers. The Akıngüç Stage will host the “ETİ Children's Theater”, which will be held within the scope of the 2019-2020 Art Year, on Saturday, February 1 at 12.00 and on Sunday, February 2 at 14:30.

“Founding Member Meeting”

The +1 Down and Autism Awareness Club will hold the “Founding Member Meeting” on Friday, February 7, between 14.00-16.00 on the first floor multi-purpose hall, in order to plan the activities to be held in the new period by bringing together the founding members.

Coca Cola Technical Trip

In cooperation with the Industrial Engineering Club and the Industrial Engineering Department, "Coca Cola Technical Trip" will be held on Tuesday, February 4th between 08.00-14.30 to inform the students about the production line.

Family Talks with Expert Clinical Psychologist Serdar Vatansever

In collaboration with the Effective Communication Club, +1 Down and Autism Awareness Club, the Communication Arts Department, and the New Media and Communication Department, an activity titled “Family Talks with Expert Clinical Psychologist Serdar Vatansever” will be organized to give parents psychological support. The event, which will be attended by the Clinical Psychologist Serdar Vatansever speaker from the Life Sharing Association, will be held on Thursday, February 6, between 11.00-13.30 in the 1st floor multi-purpose hall.

"Archisections National Idea Competition Exhibition"

The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design will exhibit award winning projects at the Archisections National Idea Competition to support students' participation in competitions and enable them to see successful presentation techniques. The exhibition can be visited on the ground floor of Ataköy campus between February 4-11, 2020.

Foreign Languages Department Spring Semester Student Orientation

The Department of Foreign Languages will organize the "Spring Term Student Orientation" on Monday, February 3rd between 09.30-15.00 at the C Block B1 hall of the Şirinevler campus.

Undoubtedly, it is an important virtue to recognize people around them. So how well do we know the building blocks of the Kültür Family? We devoted this part of our agenda to our colleagues who have worked hard to move Istanbul Kültür University one step further.

Prof.Dr. Emine Müge Çetiner-Department of Business Administration

I have been working for 23 years in Istanbul Kültür University since its establishment (1997-1998 academic year). In my corporate academic life that started with my appointment as an assistant at Marmara University in 1990 and continued at Istanbul Kültür University; After I became a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration, I worked as Coordinator, Department Head, Deputy Dean, Member of Faculty Board and Faculty Board of Directors, Research Center Directorate (KOBIMER), Faculty and Department Erasmus. My academic position continues without interruption from the beginning.

Before joining Istanbul Kültür University, the Kültür Family and its institutions were already an institution that I was familiar with, that I had known from my friends, and both of my children had been studying since primary school Also I have started to work at Kültür after I have resigned from the academic staff of Marmara University due to the fact that my dear lecturer Founder Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Economics in IKU Prof. Dr. Senih Aşan’s actively involvement in the establishment ıf IKU. At that time, there were about 30 faculty members and around 130 students full-time at the university. We were working with our late founder Rector Prof. Dr. Önder Öztunalı on a single campus in Şirinevler.

When you are in the same institution for 23 years, you naturally accumulate many sad or happy memories from time to time. It wouldn't be wrong to say that I grew up almost with this place. Let me tell you the first thing I can think of right now… I was going to fly abroad for an academic task and realized that I forgot to get my assignment letter from the school.

I phoned the school at 7 in the morning in hopes of "can I reach someone with administrative duties?" The person on the phone was Prof. Rector of the time Dr. Tamer Koçel said that my teacher was at school. Thanks to my dear lecturer Tamer, my teacher immediately faxed the document I wanted to the airport. Let me ring your ears here. Many beautiful people came and passed, some of them passed away, some left. None of us is permanent anyway, but what matters is the contribution of our institution and each other in this journey.

Founder of Istanbul Kültür Education Institutions and Honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Kültür University High Civil Engineer Fahamettin Akingüç and the chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Bahar Akingüç Günver has many values that I have learned from this institution and its employees, especially from which I am a member. Among these values, diligence, awareness of responsibility, not losing hope, modernity, being realistic are the first ones that come to my mind... on this occasion I wish all members of the family of Istanbul Kültür University success in their work and I would like to pay my respects.
