One of the most important starts in trade that COVID-19 brings with it is the postmodern era. Postmodern (Lyotard) means the post and beyond of modernism. It is the name of a period. Today, the name of this period is the digital period. It is also the name of a new philosophical concept, a new thought, style, a new rationality (rationality) and a new discourse.

The digital era of our country has entered our lives as a member of e-commerce sites, virtual commerce committee, participation in virtual fairs, and virtual fair organization.

We have officially started a new period with the publication of the decree 2573 of the Presidency on 27 May 2020 on the promotion of digital activities in the market. The purpose here is to establish cooperation with the companies in Turkey that are engaged in industrial or commercial activities (TIM, TOBB, exporters ' associations, associations, DEIK, chambers of Commerce and industry, OSB, etc.) are digital activities aimed at market entry and marketing. Virtual fairs and virtual trade delegations are a virtual environment that can be realized in digital environment, which can be attended and visited through the internet network.  Virtual trade delegation is the foreign trade activities that will be organized by the ministry coordination and cooperation organizations in electronic environment between the companies resident in our country and the companies resident abroad, institutions.

The support provided benefits from four important support such as individual membership to e-commerce sites, virtual trade delegation, participation in virtual fairs and virtual fair organization support.

In the support of individual membership to e-commerce sites, 60% of expenses and e-commerce site per year up to 8 thousand TL is benefited from the support.

In support of the virtual trade delegation, the expenses specified in the circular for the activities organized by the cooperation organizations are supported by 50% and up to 50 thousand dollars per activity.

In support of virtual participation in fairs approved by the General Directorate of exports considering the international nature of cooperative organizations, specified in the regulations for the organization expenses of 50% and up to 50 thousand dollars per activity are supported.

Virtual organization fair support, organized by cooperative organizations specified in the circular approved by the Directorate General of Exportation, expenses are supported in the ratio of 50% and up to 100 thousand dollars per activity.

A circular on the implementation procedures and principles of the decision has not yet been issued.

Decision on Supporting Digital Activities at Market Entry

It was published in the official gazette No. 31137 dated 27.05.20220 in order to support and cover the expenses of industrial and/or commercial companies and cooperation organizations related to market entry and marketing digital activities in Turkey from the price stability fund.

Within the scope of the “Social Responsibility” project, Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School organized an e-seminar titled “Exam Stress and Anxiety” for 12th grade students of Bağcılar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School on Monday, June 1, 2020. In the seminar given by Exp. Clinical Psychologist Gülhan Gökçe Ceran Yıldırım, suggestions were made for students to reduce and manage their anxiety and stress before the exam.

IKU alumni and Members Association (IKÜMED) continues to publish the stories of our highly committed and successful graduates. The sixth guest of”alumni stories " was Hira Ekin Sürcan, a graduate of the Department of English language and literature.

“I graduated from Istanbul Kültür University English Language and Literature Department in 2019 as the top of the department. I loved studying this department very intentionally because I love writing since the day I learned to read and write. I improved myself in this field for four years and started to continue by writing in English, which I wrote mostly in Turkish. Thanks to my two cousins who have been living in Tokyo for many years, Japanese was one of my favorite languages that I started learning in high school to better understand this culture that I met and admired.

The "Crowdfunding Training" was organized by the Department of Business Administration on May 21, 2020, at 18.30. The event where Istanbul Arel University Lecturer Artür Yetvart Mumcu was a speaker was held through the Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application. In the event where Lecturer Mumcu informed our participants about crowdfunding; "The mass of funding whom, how can you do?", ‘’How to create? Funding platform ", "What's the difference between an entrepreneur?", what is the level of Massive funding figures in Turkey, and how it developed?" In-depth information was shared over the questions.

The Department of business held a webinar entitled “Future Fiction with stories” on May 22, 2020 at 21.00 pm, with CMC Partner Consultant Didem Esen as the speaker. Esen offered suggestions on how students should choose their profession when creating their future in the event, which was held through the Adobe Connect virtual classroom application, and emphasized to our students that they should do what they are happy with. Esen, who is inspired by life and the stories she has acquired individually, said that everyone can write their own story and that it is necessary to be very careful in doing so.

On Thursday, May 28, at 21:00, the Department of Business organized an e-seminar titled “What is Expected from Generation Z in Industry 5.0?” via Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application. 4CEO Education and Consultancy Co-Founder & IKU Communication Arts Department Lecturer Hakan Okay, who was transferred to the event as a speaker, gave students tips to enter the business world during the Industry 5.0 process. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the changes in the business world and the economy, along with the differences between the generations, and what they create in the society and how Z generation can adapt to these differences, Okay also shared his future predictions. The e-seminar ended after the participants' questions were answered.
