Click here for further information… The Institute of Higher Education: A data analysis study was carried out by YÖK to determine the current status of distance education processes initiated at universities during the COVID-19 outbreak. In this context, - Data from different fields collected from 189 universities including 127 States and 62 Foundations are evaluated, - 121 (64%) of 189 Universities started distance learning applications on 23 March 2020 (one week after YÖK interrupted education at universities), - 90.1% of the courses in the Spring semester are opened as distance education, - Almost all of the universities (99.2%) have started their theoretical courses and approximately 89% of them have started the theoretical parts of the applied courses by distance education method, - In 22% of the courses opened by distance education method, live classroom practice is carried out, - "Social Sciences" (91%) is the field where distance education is applied most intensively, - It was determined that the measurement and evaluation of the midterm exams were mainly done through “Homework” (90.5%) and “Project” (83.10%).
