Basically, while I was an intensive care nurse, educating students by becoming an academician was an important step in my life. I don't know how many students I have trained for about 22 years, but almost all of them were very qualified. Each of them had stayed in their workplace for many years and became experts in their fields. In times of crisis, this quality is better understood. Especially the efforts of health professionals cannot be denied in the environment of the COVID-19 pandemic we live globally.

Istanbul Kültür University Vocational School organized an e-seminar titled “Economic and Social Life in America in COVID-19 Process” on Monday, May 4, 2020. Prof. Dr. Burak Arzova, who recently returned from Long Island University, where he worked as the Visiting Professor, participated as a speaker. Sharing his observations and experiences in the USA before and after the pandemic with our students, Prof. Dr. Arzova explained the election process in America, his expectations about economic life and the conjuncture of financial markets. Providing information about the course of both the global markets and the macroeconomic indicators and financial instruments of our country, Prof. Dr. Arzova answered our students' questions.

Two e-seminars titled “Roof Systems and Roof Coverings” were held on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, within the scope of the “MIM0803 Workshop III” under the direction of Instructor Tulin Barutçular in the Turkish Program of the Architecture Department, and the “ARC0803 Workshop III” courses given by Assist. Prof. Gamze Alptekin in the English Program. Following the seminars in which MEGARON Roof Technologies Product Coordinator Civil Engineer Mert Bıçakçı was the speaker, material samples and application examples were shown to the students by connecting to the the exhibition hall of the company in Eskişehir.

Within the scope of “Webinar Series Talking is Everything (Power of Communication)”, which is organized in collaboration with Istanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (İKÜMED) and Kültür Point, the founder and manager of Communication Specialist & IDEA Company, one of our 2009 graduates, met with our students on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 16.00. . In the event titled “The Power of Communication in the COVID-19 Period”, which was held with 25 participants through Adobe Connect, the importance of communication and how we could benefit from the power of communication were discussed.

The Department of Architecture (English Program) organized a seminar on Tuesday, 28 April 2020 as part of the ARC0803 Workshop III course, directed by Assist. Prof. Gamze Alptekin. In the seminar where Eczacıbaşı Bathroom Technical Trainer Gökçe İrem Akgün was a speaker, the production, testing and application stages of bathroom equipment were supported with videos and explained to the students.

In collaboration with IKU Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and Kültür Point, a webinar titled “Public Health Concept in COVID-19 Period” was organized on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at 21.30 on Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application. In the third of the webinar series under the name of "Food Safety, Healthy Nutrition and Public Health" Assist Prof. Meltem Akın Dikleli, one of the academicians of the Nursing Department, took place as a speaker. Prof. Dr. Gürhan Çiftçioğlu, Head of Nutrition and Dietetics Department, undertook the role of moderator of the event that is held with 31 participants.

The Department of Architecture hosted Cem Kafadar, who is a manager at companies such as Koç Group, Alarko Holding, Maya İnşaat, who provides human resources, training and management consultancy services in the construction industry, and prepares and presents the "Project Management with Cem Kafadar" broadcast weekly on the Business Channel television channel. Kafadar who was the guest of the course “Quality in the Construction Process” that was held synchronously on March 30, 2020 under the direction of Assist. Prof. Gamze Alptekin, made a presentation titled “ 40 Short Lessons That We Think Why They Don't Give All About These at Schools”. Kafadar who described the topics such as preparing effective resumes, things to consider in job interviews, the present and future of the construction industry, also  answered our students' questions.

The Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, which aims to maintain the distance education at the highest standard during the coronavirus pandemic, continues its activities without interruption, through live broadcasts via Instagram. After the first online interview with Kerem Ayan, the director of İstanbul Film Festival, in which the attendants discussed about the future of the festivals and the digital practices on cinema audiences on April 23, Thursday, there was an interview on cinematography and the academic education on April 30, in which Esen Tan, the manager of “Filmloverss.com”, Turkey’s most significant film critic platform. Finally, on Tuesday, April 4, another conversation was held under the moderation of our Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, Assist. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, where Director Erdem Tepegöz was a guest, where current production practices and new projects of the director were discussed. The activities, which are held with the intense participation of students, will continue without interruption in the coming weeks via the iku.rts instagram account.
