Our Honorary President of the Board of Trustees, Master of Engineering Fahamettin Akıngüç, the Founder of Kültür Educational Institutions, published a manifesto on the agenda. Dear members of Kültür Family; dear colleagues, teachers, graduates, When I start like this, I feel that we have established not only a school, a business, but a family in 60 years. In these days that we are surrounded by social distance, economic measures, risks that increase our anxieties about the future, it is nice to be a family. I hope your health is okay; both you and your loved ones. We are all like in an exam whose questions came from the parts we don’t expected. I hear similar sentences from the people I speak; "I have never seen anything like this", "I've never experienced anything like this before", "I wouldn't have guessed that much.” If we take my studentship into account, 80 years have passed in the world of education. I think that during this time, my path crossed with more than a thousand teachers. Each of them had different aspects and each was precious. But when I look back,I see that the most essential teacher is life itself. The fact that the pandemic we face nowadays is one of the lessons life gives us. Life is an interesting teacher. It is against memorization. His lesson cannot be passed without thinking, researching, questioning. It is just as fair, but… The grades are not limited, although the exams are difficult; always gives high grades to those who study, honest, and work. Son, know that these days are life lessons. With the curriculum of the school, with parents, we can pass this threshold to a certain extent. Neither miracle nor superstition. None of them are useful in this exam. It takes effort to live in the world, we have to do our best. I am a person who has spent my university and youth years in the gray climate of World War II. I received my diploma in years when the earth was war-weary. At that time, the struggle was against the pandemics that spreading from the mind, not from the human body. Genocide, hunger, nuclear weapons ... It was very difficult for millions of people; it left deep wounds in every country; it hurt, but they all passed. If we look at the world we live today, it will be discussed whether we learn something from The end of my 20s. I had my engineering diploma, I got to work. I had been a contractor. I was working really hard but it's worth it. Everything was going as I expected. But in August 1958, something that we ignored and said would not happen, just came alive. An economic break… The word devaluation entered our life for the first time. It was hard to say and hard to experience too. The depreciation of the Turkish lira, without exception, drove everyone to a great bottleneck. So what was my difference? Nothing. I was on the same boat with everyone, just like I am today. The economy turned into a trap that year. I should have made a decision. it's not even a matter of discussion for me to stop, run away, or ignore it. Doubt, anxiety, fear, wish… I left these four words then. I had to protect myself, my health, my family, and most importantly, my hope. I turned my course and sailed to a new horizon. The sail in the emblem of cKültür is very meaningful for me for this reason. Schooling was another area that I trust myself most after engineering, and I believe that I can do it with passion. I had started all my preparations, even though there were minor roughness, technically everything was fine for me. But the country or the world does not always conform to our calendar, our normal. On May 27, 1960 the first military coup took place in Turkey. The season was spring, but other shades of green were prevailing on the streets, and the footsteps of martial law echoed in our homes where we pulled its curtains tightly. I were at home, but I did not turned in upon myself. I did not leave my plans for the spring of another year. In the same year, Kültür College was officially established on September 26, 1960, after 3 months and 30 days from the conflict. Revolution was on friday; it was a Monday, I established Kültür College. There were other dates like this; ended with successes, challenges, losses or gains. There were also the events that I said I would behave more different if they happened now. For example, my school, which gives seeds even in the shadow of the conflict, came the day, I had to close it for 2 years due to the political conditions of the country. However, I have never interpreted all this as a misfortune. I interpreted each one as a life lesson that allows me to understand the value of my loved ones and my family who made me who I am. Outbreaks, wars, natural disasters, economic crises… Each one is the facts of the world that we find difficult to accept. These days will pass. Our patience will be hard, our body will be tired of stopping, and our mind will be tired of questioning. All is possible, all are the facts of the life. Maybe now is the time to put aside everything we know and take a little breath Yes, we are physically more restricted than we have ever been. Our houses are narrow to us. However, the house is the castle of man, son. Spend more time for yourself, your health, your family, your children and your home. April 23 is approaching! 100th year of our National Sovereignty. Children have a holiday very soon. Do not be afraid of fear and anxiety created by these days and do not postpone their joys. It is a holiday that is a gift from one of the most valuable elders who loves children. If it is our best effort to prepare them for life, to ensure that they grow up without missing anything, there is no better opportunity education to preserve hope. Let them wave their flags, read their poems, draw their pictures and sing their songs. Do not let their joy be overshadowed by the fear or pessimism that comes with the pandemic. Nobody can live as beautiful as children. There is a lot to learn from them, if we knew… They are the best part of the life. These days will pass, son. The essential thing is to be healthy at this stage. Protect your health, yourself, family and hope. Mind, heart and most importantly, hope and courage cannot be quarantined. Keep living, without stopping! Kültür is a big family with its graduates and members. Nowadays, I am aware of all of us in different flurries. However, in order to leave this process behind, we need solidarity more than ever. Let's turn our strength into solidarity. Stay in touch with your loved ones. With our profession, the values we share, our knowledge, our courage and our ideas, there is something to be done and a contribution that we can make. Continue to live, to produce, to share, to solidarity ... Let's not stop, we will fall if we stop. I wish you healthy days. On this occasion; together with my wife Gül Akıngüç, we convey our love and greetings to your family. We celebrate the holiday of our beautiful children and kiss them on their cheeks. See you soon in a healthy days Master of Engineering Fahamettin Akıngüç Founder of Kültür College İKÜ Honorary President of the Board of the Trustees |
