While Turkey, on one hand, is trying to prevent the spread of the corona pandemic, to increase the capacity of health institutions to take advantage of to find new treatment methods, and use the found ones, on the other hand Turkey is trying to reduce the impact of the outbreak of the country's economy, working in the living standards of disadvantaged groups to get to a certain level to hold measures. We do not yet know how accurate and successful these measures will be. But it is fact that steps are taken, incentives are given and measures are taken in many areas from aid campaigns to curfews.

Even more precautions will probably be required to be taken to  keep the country's economy alive. Because even if the pandemic is stopped, vaccines and medicines are found, it will take time to return to normal life and to re-adopt the old holiday, food and consumption habits. Almost every country in the world such as Turkey, employment, income and the balance of payments in terms of tourism, catering industry, in many businesses, especially transport will live in a troubled period. This shortage will affect the entire supply chain and Turkey economy in general, the process will be more government intervention is unavoidable.

According to the World Health Organization's (WHO) Status Report dated April 14, there are 1 million 812 thousand 734 registered cases and 113 thousand 675 people have died from COVID-19 since the outbreak began. Even economically strong, politically and militarily influential countries find it difficult to cope with the pandemic. It is said that in Italy and Spain the health system has gone bankrupt, and the limits of treatment opportunities have been reached. There are also serious problems in the USA. It is emphasized that 51 countries with low income levels cannot survive without outside support.

In short, the solution is global as well as national. Also to stop the pandemic, international cooperation for the reactivation of the affairs of Turkey's economy, cooperation is necessary. And unfortunately,  the introversion of Turkey, and its closure the border is not enough. The crisis requires initiative to be taken at the global and regional level as stated in the UN's report titled "Shared Responsibility, Global Solidarity: responding to the socio-economic pressure of COVID-19". This is a political, economic and moral responsibility. Turkey have to provide support to those in need in proportion.

In the first part of the report, states are advised to take a determined attitude to control the pandemic, they are called to be prepared in places where the pandemic is not common, all suspicious cases are asked to be tested, and the importance of taking restrictive measures, especially the quarantine and limiting displacement of people, is emphasized. The necessity of protecting the healthcare system and health workers is highlighted and information sharing is encouraged.

The fourth part of the report requests support and solidarity from the member states, especially those with strong economies and those who can contribute to others, to neutralize the outbreaks. The demands in this section are grouped under three headings: global, regional and national, and the basic principles that form the infrastructure of the demands are specified.

Adopting a human-centered approach is one of the recommended measures at the global level, the report underlines the need to take measures to protect the unemployed.

There is no doubt that the Turkey cannot enter here the details but it's predicted to take national measures report, to strengthen human rights and democracy, to support SMEs, working to resolve issues in education, particularly the requirement to leave the polarizing politics. It seems that there are still things to do at the national level to stop the epidemic. On 7 April 2020, an aid campaign titled “They Are Not Alone in the Streets” was launched by Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Women's and Social Research Unit (İKÜ-KAD), Gender Equality Club and Performing Arts Club. Club members invite you to support the campaign, which is carried out in order to keep stray animals alive with the closure of many businesses due to the COVID-19 epidemic, by leaving a bowl of food and water in front of your homes.

Istanbul Kültür University (İKÜ) Women and Social Research Unit (İKÜ-KAD), Gender Equality Club and Performing Arts Club, which launched the “They Are Not Alone in the Street” campaign for street animals that are starving because of the closedness of many institutions and organizations in COVID-19 days; With the contributions of the Communication Arts Master Program students and their families, they organized a charity campaign called "A Home From Me" by not forgetting the birds that woke us up every morning.

Our students created a festival in the trees with the colorful bird nests they prepared within the scope of the 100th anniversary of April 23, National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

IKU Awareness Club organized an e-interview titled "Post-Graduate Recruitment" on Wednesday, April 22nd. Michael Page Recruitment Consultant Hale Yıldız attended the event held in the live broadcast of İKÜ Awareness Club Instagram account. The moderator of the event was one of the lecturers of Communication Design Department Ömür Kınay who is Academic Advisor of the Club Communication Design Department. In the activity held in the main theme of the recruitment process of graduate students and disabled individuals; interview, first impression, features that companies are looking for, frequently asked questions and CV preparation topics were conveyed to the audience in detail. While discussing the issues, the stereotypes that should not be included in the CV and the recruitment negotiations in line with the sensitivity of the candidates in terms of transferring their strengths and weaknesses, preparing CV for disabled individuals and the sensitivity shown by corporate companies to “discrimination” issues were also mentioned. Asked by students; Questions concerning hearing impaired and wheelchair users were answered by Hale Yıldız. At the end of the event, Hiring Consultant Hale Yıldız stated that by sharing our e-mail address to our students, she could conduct 15-minute interviews with those who wanted or correct their CV.

Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department (English Program) hosted Front Consultant and Architect Özgür Tuna on Wednesday, April 22, within the scope of the course "Building Information and Materials II". Tuna gave information about the importance of the connection between glass selection and interior space to our students during the online course.

Istanbul Kültür University (Iku) vocational school (vocational school) organized an e-seminar titled “Evolution of communication” on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. Tuğçe Oral, Customer Group Director of Goodworks communication consultancy, who attended the event as a speaker, evaluated the communication activities of various brands in different media from the world and Turkey before and after the pandemic. Tuğçe Oral explained in detail how the covid-19 epidemic changed the consumer's perception of the brand, how brands 'attitudes about the process affected consumers' buying behavior, and what brands should pay attention to in line with their communication plans during and after the pandemic. Oral also answered the questions of our students on the subject and gave advice on how to achieve success in the communication sector and especially in the field of PR.
