Since the epidemic of New Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19), which shook the whole world, is also seen in our country, there was a need to inform all students, staff and parents about the studies at our university.

- For the 3-week holiday period announced as of 16 March 2020, announced by the Presidency, the entrance of our students, parents and all visitors to the campuses has been stopped, except for our academic and administrative staff. According to the developments to be experienced during the 3-week holiday, a new announcement will be made. You can follow the developments on the subject on our website.

- Our cleaning, restaurant, dining hall and service officers are specially trained against COVID-19 and the inspections made by the Health, Culture and Sports Department and Occupational Health and Safety Unit of the food products sold in our campuses are tightened.

- Basın Ekspres campus Student-Personnel shuttle services have been reduced (hourly/if required) and 5 service vehicles with the capacity of 27 people each, have been withdrawn as of 16 March 2020.

- 2 additional student services between the Girls' Dormitory and Şirinevler Campus in the morning were abolished as of 16 March 2020.

- The “part time” cleaning service, which is being done between 18.00-20.00 for the preparation of the campus for the next day, was cancelled as of 16 March 2020.

- As a result of a 3-week interruption of education in our campuses, 46 cleaning service personnel (who deserve an annual leave) will be given one-week leave annually as of 17 March 2020.

- Common areas in all campuses are cleaned more often for cleaning and dicontamnination purposes.

- Since February, professional training on hygiene has been giving to our cleaning services personnel.

- 40 hand sanitizer machines were put in all campuses (in addition to the existing ones) and started to used by our students and staff.

- Areas such as doors, door handles, stair handrails where the most hand contact is made in their campuses are disinfected with chlorine-based  cleaning product (bleach and industrial disinfectant).

- In the event that the threat in question progresses with our cleaning services supplier, we continue our planning studies on additional measures that can be taken regarding our areas and personnel.

- International / domestic travels of all students, faculty members and employees, including those planned before, subject to the knowledge and permission of the university, have been suspended until a second announcement.

 -If all Turkish and foreign students go abroad, they will not be allowed to enter the campus and dormitories for at least 14 days upon return. In addition, the flights of our students who go abroad can be canceled, and our students may experience different problems in their returnings depending on the situation developing until the return date.

 -Presidency of public officials abroad has been stopped by the Presidency due to their duties or for personal reasons. In mandatory and urgent cases, the request will be sent to the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education in order to be evaluated in accordance with the Presidential Circular No. 2020/2 dated 12 March 2020 with the annex of the University Executive Board decision.

Our students, faculty members and employees who return to their homes from abroad will stay in their homes for 14 days within the scope of the decisions issued by the Higher Education Council on 6 March 2020, unless they show signs of fever and cough at 14th day, they will be able to return to college at the end of the day. In accordance with the decisions taken by the Ministry of health, they will be placed on administrative leave for 14 days from the date of return, therefore they are required to send the page with the entry stamp of their passport to the following e - mail addresses.

- All activities (symposium, conference, concert, Erasmus, etc.) at our university have been canceled until the second announcement from 12 March 2020 with the approval of the Rectorate.

- All academic and social activities such as educational activities, academic exchange programs, social activities, cultural trips, sports activities, competitions related to university activities of students have been canceled.

Among our academic and administrative staff, except the Rector, Vice Rector, Dean, Directors of the Institute and Vocational School, those who are 60 years of age and older, pregnant; those who have breast-feeding permission; those who are disabled employees, and disadvantaged groups determined by the Ministry of Health (those with immune problems, cancer patients, chronic respiratory tract patients, obesity and diabetes, cardiovascular patients, organ transplant patients, chronic patients) will be counted as twelve days of administrative leave as of March 16th, 2020.

-       Annual leave requests of our female academic and administrative staff who have children in preschool and primary education will be taken into consideration; and excuse leaves will be made available for those who do not have annual leave.

-       Regarding the leave requests of our other academic and administrative staff, action will be taken in accordance with the legislation in force.

In accordance with the explanations above, all of our faculty members and employees who will use the leave must fill in the leave form.

In our country, the first death occurred due to COVID-19; The case was reported that the victim was 89 years old and his employee was in contact with China. The number of the cases diagnosed as positive in Covid-19 reached 98.

In the article of the General Directorate of Health Services titled “Postponement of Elective Procedures and Other Measures to be Taken”;

-Encouraging non-emergency patients to receive services primarily from family practices

-Re-planning of elective surgical procedures

 -Postponing non-emergency dentistry practices

-Extension of chronic disease follow-up intervals

-Rational management of beds of intensive care units

-Postponing the health tourism services

-Direct procurement of reported medicines and medical supplies from pharmacies and medicals

-Extending the validity of current disability reports by the end of May 2020

-It was stated that, during the epidemic, temporary measures should be taken in all health institutions, regardless of the branch and the unit in which all health personnel  can support the units in which the relevant patients are seen.

An agreement was signed between Iran and Turkey on health grants. Turkey helped Iran with medical equipment (1000 diagnostic kits, 4,715 overalls, 20,000 gowns, 2,004 glasses, 4,000 N95 masks and 78,000 three-layer masks).

The Ministry of Justice announced that non-quarantine is a crime under the Criminal Code.

The Ministry of National Defense announced that the Military Schools and the NCO Vocational High School and the Military Colleges affiliated with the National Defense University were vacationed until April 13.

Ministry of Youth and Sports, General Directorate of Credit and Hostels announced that a “Quarantine Coordination Center” was established within the GSB Corporate Communication Center for citizens and their relatives who were quarantined in various provinces.

85% know the right measures,

55% take / implement these measures.

In addition, society;

45% of the Ministry of Health and state institutions take adequate measures against this virus,

45% do not believe that the relevant institutions provide correct information to the society.
