1986, month of July ... While Turkey and the World continuing to take notes on their diary in the halfway of the year, There was a feverish work in Kültür College's building in İncirli. The school lights were still on late in preparation for the first issue of a magazine which will be 35-years-old this time. The editor-in-chief of the journal is today known as Istanbul Kültür University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Günver. Having grown up in a family where education is on the agenda even at dinner tables, Dr. Akıngüç Günver was a student at Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics in those years. Pedagogue Writer Sarp Bengü is the magazine's first editor-in-chief. The goal set by the two young people who meet on the ground of education is quite clear: To publish a magazine that can be included not only in the libraries of schools but also in the libraries of homes. Meeting the guidance needs of parents who believe that knowledge as well as love and care are essential to raising a child. To be able to present a long-running publication that will embrace everyone who believes that education is a never-ending process that spreads to life.
Yaşadıkça Eğitim, which draws its strength from these ideals, met its readers in 1986 with the slogan "For a happier future" with 64 pages. In 2015, under the academic consultancy of our Faculty of Education, as a refereed publication with its new face and content, the 35th Anniversary 35th Volume 1 Issue of the Journal of Yaşadıkça Eğitim was dedicated to Prof. Dr. Doğan Cüceloğlu who passed away last month, sheds light on the past issues of the publication with his knowledge and experience.
Our Magazine of Yaşadıkça Eğitim, edited by Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Toran, one of the academic staff of the Faculty of Education Department of Primary Education, Program of Pre-School Teaching, and continues to reach education readers and writers at journals.iku.edu.tr/yed, is now in its 35th year with the first issue in 35th volume on the air. We celebrate the 35th anniversary of Yaşadıkça Eğitim Magazine and wish you success in its publication life.
