Narod Maraşlıyan from GPoT Center attended the "Building the Future of Cyprus: Multi-Stakeholder Strategic Planning Forum", organized by the Institute for Eurodemocracy, CES & PATRIR-IPDTC between the 2nd and 3rd of December, 2011.
Participants from different sectors and agencies took part in the event, in which they conducted a joint exploration of key dimensions, dynamics, issues and opportunities on the Cyprus Conflict. The event took place at the Cyprus Community Media Centre (CCMC) in the buffer zone.
GPoT’s Deputy Director, Dr. Sylvia Tiryaki, wrote an article for Turkish Review’s October-December 2011 edition with the title: “Turkey’s broken path to EU membership.”
Onur Bayramoğlu's article on "Wall Street Protests and Globalization" was published on the 71st edition of TÜSİAD's Görüş Magazine. The article explores the reasons for the protests, focusing on issues such as international financial system, globalization and technology, and inconsistencies within the global education system and upward mobility.

On November 21-22, 2011 GPoT Director Dr. Mensur Akgün participated in a roundtable in Brussels hosted by Carnegie Europe, EDAM and NATO, as well as a meeting at the NATO-HQ organized by the International Relations Council of Turkey.
Onur Bayramoğlu, from GPoT Center, attended the Istanbul Cross Regional Workshop on the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, which was organized from the 15th to the 17th of November at Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel, in Istanbul.
On behalf of Global Political Trends Center (GPoT), Onur Bayramoğlu and Meltem Abalı attended the “Pecha Kucha” night in Yerevan, Armenia on November 8th, 2011 that was organized under the mutual efforts of Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF), USAID and Solo34.
Mr. Ives, the Executive Director of the Albert Schweitzer Institute of the Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, presented a speech at the United Nations on November 2nd, 2011. The side conference entitled "Improving by Doing: The Role of Civil Society in Enhancing the Work of the Human Rights Council" was organized by Ambassador Eduardo Ulibarre and the Costa Rican Mission to the United Nations.
As part of its joint project with Internews Armenia and Yerevan Press Club, GPoT Center supported the production of a television talk show series on Armenia-Turkey relations entitled "Gamurç / Köprü" ("Bridge").

GPoT Center arranged the visits of Turkish journalists to Armenia from the state-run TRT television station between June 26th and July 3rd, 2011 and from CNN Turk between October 24th and 26th, 2011.
The teams met with Armenian experts and journalists and traveled to sites of cultural importance. The trips were organized as part of GPoT's Armenia-Turkey reconciliation projects, carried out with Internews Armenia and the Eurasia Partnership Foundation.
GPoT Deputy Director Dr. Sylvia Tiryaki attended the global civil society working meeting "Towards an Effective and Inclusive Global Counter-Terrorism Policy" held between October 20th and 22nc, 2011 in New York City.
The conference, jointly organized by the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) and Cordaid, aimed at setting up a dialogue between UN entities and civil society on the issue of human security. Participants included leading civil society figures and experts from across the world.
