Applications have started for the Solidarity Scholarships of Istanbul Kültür University, which offers 100% scholarship education to 2021 university candidates and their families residing in provinces damaged by forest fires, especially in Muğla and Antalya.
The fires that occurred in different parts of our country caused financial losses for the residents of the region as well as the destruction they caused in the environment. Istanbul Kültür University announced that it will provide education support with 100% scholarship opportunity to university candidates residing in fire areas, especially in Antalya, Muğla and Mersin, and whose families have suffered financial loss. Candidates will be able to make their applications through the form on aday.iku.edu.tr.
Drawing attention to the social solidarity for the compensation of the losses due to regional fires, Our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Dr. Bahar Akıngüç Ünver, said these within the scope of Solidarity Scholarship: “The fires while trying to manage the side effects caused by the pandemic are really sad for all of us. We stand by our young people and their families residing in the fire zone. Social sensitivity, respect for nature and the environment are the articles that we, as Kültür University, are committed to in our corporate constitution. At this point, we are ready to contribute as much as we can.”
As for our Rector, talked about the Solidarity Scholarship by pointing out the emphasis on the equality of education that Istanbul Kültür University has, by these words: “The fire disaster is sad for all of us. Our natural wealth and youth are our greatest wealth. We contacted our students residing in the fire area. Knowing that they are well has been our biggest consolation in this process. Our medium and long-term support for the environment and nature is also on the agenda, but we focused on providing the necessary touch to our students and their families who suffered financial loss in our provinces that were damaged by fire in the first place. As Kültür University, the importance of equal opportunities in education becomes more apparent in difficult times. We will continue to support successful young people in need with our scholarship policy.”
