The third annual Turkey-Armenia Journalism Award ceremony organized by GPoT Center on July 5th, 2013 took place on the premises of the Palais de France in Istanbul, courtesy of the Embassy of France.
GPoT Center, together with the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C., organized the formal book launch event of “The Turkish Ambassador’s Residence and the Cultural History of Washington, D.C.” on June 10 in Washington, D.C., U.S.A.
Recognizing the significance of the recent developments in Cyprus, GPoT Center resumed meetings aiming to provide a communication platform for representatives of both sides of Cyprus, Turkey, and Greece under the banner of the Heybeliada Talks. The 12th round in the series of second-track diplomacy meetings, which have been organized by GPoT Center since 2008, took place in Nicosia’s Buffer Zone on May 11, 2013.
In partnership with the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung in Israel, GPoT Center organized the second part of the International Workshop for Turkish and Israeli Journalists in Jerusalem, Israel. The workshop hosted 13 participants, including journalists from well-known Turkish and Israeli newspapers, and academicians, from the 29th of April to the 1st of May, 2013.
GPoT Center hosted approximately 40 participants for the 2013 cycle of the High Strategic Studies of the Mediterranean Sea. 9-month long study programs of this kind have been organized by the Mediterranean Foundation of Strategic Studies in partnership with the Institute of High Studies of National Defense for almost two decades.
It is the pleasure of GPoT Center to host Erik Boel, former President at the European Movement Denmark, as a key-note speaker during today's roundtable on EU-Turkey relations in Istanbul.
GPoT Center organized a week-long Democracy Training Workshop, which brought together 30 exiled Syrian youth community representatives, between the 11th and 15th of March in Istanbul, Turkey.
GPoT Center hosted Dr. Peter Jones, Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs of University of Ottawa, Canada, to speak about Iran and its position amid recent regional challenges and impact of the "Arab Spring" uprisings, on the 8th of November, 2012.
GPoT Center in collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences (FSES) of the Comenius University in Slovakia organized the Inaugural Suna Roundtable Discussion entitled The Middle East on Rise: Turkey and the EU on the premises of the FSES in Bratislava on October 25, 2012.
The event took place with the aim to commemorate H.E. Suna Çokgür Ilıcak, who passed away while serving as the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Slovak Republic in 2006.
Global Political Trends Center (GPoT Center) together with Fredrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute organized a two-day international workshop on the challenges for Turkey and Israel in the changing Middle East and influence of the media in Turkish-Israeli relations which went from the 15th to the 16th of October, 2012.
