Mensur Akgun, together with Sylvia Tiryaki and other international civil society activists, attended the Gender Institute Consultation Meeting which took place in Abu Dhabi on October 13th, 2010.
The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
of the United Arab Emirates.
GPoT, with the assistance of the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) and the International Development Research Center (IDRC) of Canada, organized a conference on “The Private Sector’s Role in the Area of Corporate Social Responsibility".
The event was part of the Forum for the Future, i.e. a joint initiative by the G8 and Broader Middle East and North Africa (BMENA) launched with the aim to enhance dialogue between governments and civil society.

Armenia is not only currently looking West, but also enjoys healthy diplomatic relations with some of the world’s major powers, an academic from Yerevan University in Armenia said at a recent seminar in Istanbul.
GPoT, in partnership with the Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), organized a seminar for Turkish journalists entitled “Talks on Armenia”.
The meeting, which took place at Istanbul Kultur University on September 20th, 2010, started with the welcoming remarks of Dr. Sylvia Tiryaki. In the first part of the panel, Turkish and Armenian journalists talked about the 'nuts-and-bolts' of Armenian politics at a round table.
